The New Alexandra Hotel

First impressions were a tired, wonky old building with people sat smoking around the entrance. The check-in looked old and haphazard but the lad on duty was helpful, friendly and efficient. There is no lift. There were 80 stairs to the family rooms in the loft - OK for us but wouldn't suit some. The room surpassed my expectations, it looked like it had been recently refurbished and was spotlessly clean. Ideal size for a family. The full size bunk bed was big enough for my tall teen. Only one bin for everything though - no recycling. The bathroom was spacious, new and clean. Breakfast was 'interesting'. The young waitress was nice and did her best but service was a bit Fawlty Towers. The food and the coffee were delicious though. You need to pay at the end of the meal, you can't charge it to the room. Good value for money. There was no entertainment. There is an entertainment room but it was locked up, and instead, they were showing a football match in the bar - children not allowed in. In short, it was perfectly adequate for a family of five. I'd book it again but use it purely as a base as it's in a perfect location for all the many attractions in Llandudno.

Friendly welcoming hotel that caters for dog owners. Quick check in, deposit of £50 left due to dog (refunded on check out). Stair access to all bedrooms so people with limited mobility would struggle. Room was clean, spacious and had been modernised. Simply decorated with a couple of chairs and table in window and a wardrobe and dressing table for storage. Nice large TV with free view channels. Towels and drinks tray provided. The bathroom was in need for a refurb as it was a small cubical style shower. It’s clear that the hotel are dog friendly as there is a separate area for owners to dine. Had a lovely breakfast on one of the mornings. Well cooked and we’re even offered cereal (free) if we wanted it. Nice touch. Bin was emptied daily and if we wanted fresh towels we just left the used in the shower. Another nice touch was the little cup of sweets. My son would of liked them replenished daily as well as the bottle of water. There was a blackout blind to help keep room darker to sleep. My only criticism was the pillows as we all found them hard (if we were staying longer I would have asked to swap them). You can’t beat a good soft pillow. The hotel is certainly having a good makeover and is being updated, they were also having CCTV installed which certainly would help people to feel more secure.

Very friendly and helpful check in lady the room was comfortable and clean. Would stay again in the future. Only stayed for one night but would stay for longer.tea and coffee facilities in the room and sweets a nice touch.

Very dissatisfied with the information on the description of the Hotel. It said free off parking when we arrived the staff behind the receptionist told us that they don’t have any on site parking ? We were lucky with the weather but the room allocated in the loft was really hot as the window was only small. We asked for a fan and the receptionist told us that ‘she will have to builder up’ which to be honest did not help at all. We asked if we could change room but it was full. Lucky it was only for one night not worth what we paid for ! We will not recommend the this Hotel really a shame the location is great ! It there are plenty Hotel by the sea front with better room for the same price.

The stay was all right bar was lovely aslo had had a good drinks lists.only thing wrong was right up the very top floor they had no lift

First time stay. Staff very polite & friendly. Food was great nothing was too much trouble. Room bit small if your staying more than a weekend. Needs a freshen up paint wise. Less than a minute walk to the beach. Overall a lovely stay.

Brilliant !

Rooms double booked so we got single room with small double bed for same price of £146 as we had booked. Only 1 towel provided But Free breakfast thrown in. Still waiting for deposit of £50 to be returned to my account from the previous day on check out

This was a one night stop over stay but we had two dogs with us. The staff were extremely friendly and the dogs in the rooms didn’t present any issues with the staff.The dogs were even welcome in the restaurant at breakfast time in a certain area. Would not hesitate to stay here again

Could not fault anything, my husband was taken ill and the staff kept me calm and called an ambulance and contacted my son, when we got back the next day bed changed everything spotless the staff are a credit as are the owners Thank you Sam and all at The New Alexandra

Lovely hotel, Staff very plesant and helpful. Room was ideal for our family of 5. Kids loved the bowl of sweets, nice touch from the hotel. Breakfast was the best we have had from overnight stay, very fresh. We will definately stay again when visiting llandudno.

The room was very good just getting upstairs we were at the top but no lifts that was the only downside the view was lovely but the stairs a killer. The breakfast wasn’t that great a little greasy but as I am diabetic I tried it once only wish everything wasn’t fried otherwise it would have been brilliant as the staff was most accommodating and friendly would I recommend it yes it central I would still stay just not eating breakfast.

Window was draughty Mattress cheap and uncomfortable we had difficulty sleeping. If stay was going to be more than 2 days we would have moved Hotels Room was clean and shower room clean Good amount of Tea, Coffee etc.

Enjoyed stay!! Good location and clean. Staff friendly and good service. The two ladies tried their best to book me a taxi on busy day and showed me way to train station. The boss let me off for checking out a little late too. Was able to book stay extra day without having to change room much appreciated. Rooms not the most spacious but had a nice view and clean and comfy. For the price really good. Whenever next in Llandudno would happily stay again.

Booked this room didn’t even stay there after check in never seen nothing like it in my life

The staff were very welcoming and great with the kids. There is no designated parking. The beds were cheap and uncomfortable. Bathroom was crazy tiny, and we were on the 4th floor with no elevators. The restaurant food was good as was breakfast and very reasonable.

The room was clean and the bed spotless. The toilet seat was broken and the toilet roll dispenser was not working and therefore there was no access to toilet paper. The shower was reasonably clean. There is no lift and the amount of stairs for someone disabled is a great challenge. For the amount I paid I expected better and to have to pay for breakfast was, in my opinion a liberty. I would not stay there again. The noise was awful and in my opinion it was not good value for money.
