The hotel was within walking distance of the famous and popular Prospect Street. The location is excellent, and the room on the top floor has a nice view. Very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was ok, not my favorite, but there are many choices in downtown with a La Jolla vibe. They offered beach umbrellas and chairs upon request for use at the beach. The staff was very friendly and professional. Although the hotel does not have its parking, parking is available across the street for $25, which is complimentary for hotel guests. We only stayed one night and I recommend it.

Clean and friendly staff

This hotel was great- except the price. I thought it was expensive, but was the most affordable option i could find for the area. The room was very spacious and the king bed- very soft and comfortable. The pillow were nice too- felt like real down feather pillows.

The hotel is conveniently located to beaches, La Jolla Cove, and a lot of dining and shopping. The room was very spacious!

It's Ok, parking is across the street

Clean and well appointed, smaller property. It is in a fantastic location with friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is included, but it is more typical of something you would get staying in a Residence Inn or TownePlace Suites. That said, our stay was worth what we paid.

It’s an older property but updated and very clean. Staff is awesome! Amenities are good. Area is wonderful. Very walkable.

Desk clerk held out luggage so we could do some exploring because we arrived 4 hours before check in

The property is OK. There is no bell boy or a similar position to assist with the luggage even though Empress is a boutique hotel. The staff were friendly, however.

We Loved the Empress Hotel of La Jolla! The hotel was clean. Staff was top notch. Rooms were spacious and the bed was comfortable. The Hotel is very walkable to La Jolla village. Would definitely stay again.

The hotel is in a great location, close to shopping, dining and the ocean. The staff was very professional and attentive, but the room could have been a little more updated. The furnishings seemed old and worn, but the room was clean and safe.
