After having been to the Imperial hotel many times over the last 30 years, I was surprised to see people checking-in with their dogs. I certainly didn’t see any small print in the hotel info about this, but being allergic to dog hair/dander I was concerned about what room we’d been allocated. But I was assured the room wasn’t one where guests had their dogs with them. I have no problem with dogs and am fine when I’ve taken medication, but I didn’t have any with me! Also, I was really surprised when some guests actually brought their dogs into the dining room with them at Breakfast service and let them sit on the seats. Perhaps that was our last visit to such a lovely old Victorian hotel. 😕

Such a lovely historical building but like the rest of Blackpool needs a bit of tlc. Room itself was ok but let down by the bathroom and the fact it hadn't been cleaned properly with fluff and hair still on floor from previous occupants. The maintenance of the bathroom too left a lot to be desired with dated, aged tiles and dodgy sealant application. On the positive, cannot fault the staff and breakfast was excellent.

Room was filthy, dirt ground in on some surfaces. Edge of carpets never seen a hoover. Room dated, wardrobe doors didn’t meet when closed with at least a 2” gap. Sad thing is the breakfast is fantastic. Don’t fall for the pictures on app.

Our stay was very pleasant. It's a beautiful historic building with amazing features, although a little tired in places. The staff are fantastic very polite and helpful. The bar area really isn't that big considering they put entertainment on so there's nowhere to sit. Our room was very clean. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would consider a return visit

Love the hotel and staff and would still go.but the hotel needs money injecting in it.rooms are comfortable and in fact they have upgraded the kettle to coffee machine and pods which was lovely.however my room was not ready when i arrived.check in is supposed to be 3pm and i had to sit and wait till 4.15 before housekeeping had made up my room.then when I got to the room the bed was still not made up so i had go looking for someone to change bedding and finish my room.i also have a favourite room I ask for when making the booking in advance but this time they said it wasn’t available and put me in a disability room.as i only go overnight these things have a big impact on my stay.there were tablets on the floor and all sorts of tablets, debris and dust under the bed.like I say lovely hotel but obviously need invest more money in staff and property

Abrupt unhelpfull breakfast staff booking you in to a table was very disrespectful so only went twice paid for all week but bad attitude.on both occasions. Main reception and other staff very polite. Main entrance Lift out of use all week resulting in other lift being very busy as now double amount of people using it. Thus 20 minutes waiting for it to have room to enter it on on one occasion.

Stayed for 3 days and had a nice time. Drinks at the bar are reasonably priced. Didn’t use room service but we did have breakfast and it was very good quality and a good variety of food. Room was spacious and while it didn’t have air conditioning there was a fan and the room wasn’t too hot even in the heatwave. Gave 4 stars rather than 5 because the bathrooms need updating and the bath could use a scrub. Would stay again :)

I have mixed opinions. The feeling I have come away with is it was ok but actually when asked how many stars to give, I have ticked good and excellent on some things. Parking - ok but can't book in advance so slight concern pre arrival as to whether there would be space. I did manage to get a space. Check-in - staff friendly and helpful. Welcomed us and gave us all necesarry info. Room - clean, spacious, plenty of storage but on first night it was so hot. Windows don't open. Very stuffy even though they do provide a fan. Didn't have a good nights sleep. Shower not great, water goes hot and cold. Shower head fixed high up. Toiletries rubbish - do not lather at all - bring your own. Breakfast - great breakfast. Good choice of food. Fresh fruit/yogurt/cereal/croissants/pancakes/cooked buffet breakfast. Scrambled egg lovely. We enjoyed it. Lifts in the hotel take ages. One had broken down but to be fair they had opened the reserve lift so was doing all they could with regards to this. Lovely old building but is in need of a little TLC. Not sure if i would return or not.

As beautiful as the Grade 1 listed building is for The Imperial Hotel ,the old musty smell on the 4th Floor is unavoidable for the age of this glorious building. Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful, unfortunately a couple might want to rethink their career choice.
