I love this hotel. But this time the water smelled & tasted FOUL. Brushing my teeth was something I disliked doing during this stay. Best wishes & I'll try again next time I'm in town.

Friendly staff, clean room and bathroom in a quiet location. 5 minute Uber to local nightlife. All good!

The inn was older but clean. The heating/cooler system in one of our rooms didnt work well but there was a fireplace which we used instead and was very nice. In one of our other rooms the mattress farthest from the door was very uncomfortable, my quest said they could feel the spring in their back. Lucky they had the room to themselves and slept in the other bed. Would consider staying here again for short stays 1-2 nights.

Enjoyed my stay. Staff were very receptive to a repair that needed to be done in the room.

Very nice and clean

I was disappointed the room was very run down. Beds were uncomfortable, bathroom did not look clean and the receptionist was extremely rude. The thing that blew my mind was a $250 deposit for one night. Just ridiculous

Nice motel, convenient for tourist attractions of Monterey. Room was not well maintained though- bathroom fixtures a bit rusty and a squishy patch of floor that felt like the floorboards were about to break. However- staff were great- friendly, helpful.

Fantastic management!

My friend made the resrvation for me and accidentially booked the wrong date. The Pelican Inn staff was SO nice to accommodate me and find another room for only $33.00 more, I was SO grateful. The only thing that was missing was having a coffee machine in the room for my badly needed morning 1st cup of coffee. Other than that it was PERFECT and much appreciated!! Please thank them for helping me in a pinch!!

It suited my needs and will certainly consider returning but the room needs modernizing - broken lights. Nice people.

The Pelican Inn is clearly an older hotel. It is showing it's age and while clean, it could use some attention. The lighting in the bathroom was unbelievably dim, with only 2 bulbs over the sink providing illumination. It was OK for what we needed, but only just OK. The staff, on the other hand, were incredibly nice and very attentive. They could not have been better and made the visit much better than it could have been.

Extremely loud construction going on right outside the bathroom window, banging going on starting from 7am. Horrible experience

This is a cute older hotel in Monterey. The staff are great and rooms are clean. Location is an easy walk to downtown or the wharf. The Pelican Inn is my go to place to stay when in Monterey.

Friendly owners everything nearby

Stayed in a one bedroom with a fireplace. It was really nice highly recommend it if you can get one. Bathroom was okay some stains on the toilet seat but nothing crazy. Heater and AC works good. Nice patio out for smoking. Only problem if you get a room downstairs is that you can hear people walking from upstairs. Thin flooring unfortunately. Overall though good convenient stay.
