No air conditioning in the building, was told at check in but we couldn’t make other accommodations in short notice. Room was dirty and lights didn’t work

It’s an old hotel with old rooms. It’s a slap lipstick on a pig and call it good type of place. It wasn’t disgustingly dirty but dingy which makes it hard to feel clean in what should be a clean room. The bed was comfortable but the bathroom needs some updating with cracked countertop, no plug in the sink, and caulk jobs that should be touched up with paint. There were stains on the carpet too. Friendly staff and easy check in though. Location is great. The hotel has potential if money was put into it. If you just need a place to sleep for the night, it’ll do. To actually stay and visit Olympia, spend more and stay elsewhere.

I came here in tears after a hipcamp was so baking hot I couldn't stay and had to forfeit my payment there. I'd had a positive stay here in February, so put my trust in The Governor. It was ill placed this time. Despite the heat wave, the whole 7th floor's heater was on. My minifridge door was even open, so it was not chilling either. But I knew I was screwed when neither of my laptops could detect a single wifi network. My phone can see the Governor's wifi, so clearly the problem is both my laptops. So I tried the tv, which wouldn't turn on. The minifridge and tv were on one surge protector that was not even plugged in. The Governor has history and I had hoped it would remain a trusted home away from home in Olympia. Clearly, no longer.

The shower wouldn't shut completely off, no Air conditioning in the building when slider door was open it smelled of gasoline. I would suggest a refund, considering the building is about to be taken over and renovated

When we got there we were told the AC was down in the building, the only ice machine is at the check in desk. The room was 87 degrees when we got in there. No fans. The shower had a leak so it dripped water all night. The tub had a hole in it and looked like it needed repairs. It was straight up ghetto.

Once they get the remodeling done it will be a great place to stay. Even with the construction the staff was friendly and helpful.

The A/C was out in entire building, they opened the screen doors which was so loud outside and sweltering heat. The room was dirty garbage and not cleaned. The shower is scolding hot or ice cold and randomly changes on you. Staff was awesome and great location.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The A/C was out in the whole hotel and it was 89 degrees F that day. TV did not work. Bathtub had its surface coming off. Only two hangers for clothes. Dirty/stained bed sheets.

When i checked in the front desk asked was i notified the AC didnt work. Which i wasnt. So i booked a "premium room" on the 7th foor just to be hot and the most basic room. Nothing was premium or updated. The bathtub was peeling and it was qnats. Not even a smart TV. I woke up so hot due to no AC. It wasn't bad staff or inconvenient just needs upgrades

Checked in and the key card didn't work 2x so had to keep coming back to the front desk. The air conditioner was out so the 7th floor was hot and the window only opened a few inches to let air in. Spider webs on the ceiling in the room showed the room was not cleaned well. The street was noisy with the window open. Did not sleep well with the heat and noise. I will say the 2 front desk attendants I encountered were both pleasant and helpful.

Property recently taken over by Red Lion. I'm sure it will be renovated. A/c was not working, everything looks worn and tired, but the bed was amazingly comfortable!

Many things aren't working: AC, ice machines, pool, some of the doors. It's due for a reno in December and it really needs it. I think they don't want to put any money into fixing anything before the reno so it's slowly going downhill.

The hotel is in desperate need of a complete renovation. Air conditioner for entire hotel out of service, shower either freezing cold or scalding hot. Planned on a three-night stay, left next morning (without a shower). Then had to chase manager to get refund.

No A/C - Cannot open windows more than 3 inches. No sleep = poor communication, no help offered.

The air conditioning was out and there is no way to open windows as the rooms have sliding doors that open about 2 inches only. This is scheduled for renovation but honestly they should not be renting rooms in the current state.
