Small room. Missing a chair as a minimum.

Une chance que j’étais seule dans une très petite chambre annoncée pour deux personnes. Rangement quasi inexistant et aucun support à valise. La seule place pour la mettre était à terre dans le petit espace de l’autre côté du lit. Je m’attendais à plus pour un hôtel de ce calibre et qui a des tarifs élevés. Pour accéder à ma chambre, il y avait cinq marches, pas facile avec une valise. Par contre, l’hôtel est très bien situé, la chambre était propre, c’était tranquille et le petit déjeuner était très bien.

Overordnet set godt. Lækker morgenbuffet med venligt personale. Værelset havde skader der ikke var udbedret, ex. hasp i vinduet der var brækket af (flere steder) men ikke ordnet, ligeledes havde badeværelset flere skader der ikke var udbedret. Jeg havde forventet lidt højere kriterier af Hotel Royal. For et alm. hotel ville det ikke være noget jeg ville

This amazing hotel in Århus which I have used for 30y still struggling with optimal set up after new ownership has taken over! For the second time in 2025 offering me a 1/2 bottle wine when the VIP/Gold have 1 bottle on the program, the rest/closed on a Wednesday (had business meeting and lucky to find chairs/table), could not enter the hotel after midnight and had to get support from the casino next door to enter. Finally, my business partner forgot his cap and today I have spend 35 EUR (they charge!) for shipping it from Århus to Herning! On the positive side the breakfast is definitely worth going for.

Room was unique with ceiling Muriel's and double door. Breakfast room was beautiful

Love the hotel which I have visited for 30y...but for the first time ever ended up in a small cabin!!!! Even with the Gold card where you normally /should have an upgrade...

We can’t recommend the Hotel Royal more. The service was the best we’ve ever experienced in our 30+ years or traveling—and I’m not overstating that. The people were so friendly, caring, and helpful. The hotel itself was very well appointed. We loved the onsite restaurant and also found that the hotel was perfectly located in the heart of Aarhus bars, restaurants, and shopping. We will be back.

Having tried nearly all the hotels in Aarhus, this property easily ranks as number 1 for me. The history, the elegance, the size of the rooms, the free wine and coffee, the paintings, the friendliness of the staff. What an experience!

Overall, great historic hotel that has recently gone through a major restoration and upgrades. Great romantic atmosphere, beautiful architecture and decor, perfect location, close to both the harbor and the old city. Central station and diverse shopping and dining options nearby. My room was very tiny and I would prefer a more practical VIP gift than a huge bottle 🍾 of bubbly for a solo traveler. Breakfast is available and good but overpriced.

A beautiful old hotel right in town center close to museums and restaurants and bars and shopping. The staff was all lovely and helpful, the bed was super comfy, the bathroom spacious, clean and well appointed. Who could ask for anything more!
