I cannot put into words how hot this hotel was. 28 degrees in our a room, no AC and broken fan. We both ended up sleeping with a wet towel on us to keep cool...I wish I was joking. This is by far the worst hotel for comfort I've experienced in a very long time. Sadly the room looked like it had recently been refurbished but failed to action the temperature, I'm not sure if the bed had a mattress on it or a load of old potatoe peelings, either was ruddy uncomfortabl. Bar and restaurant were below par. I'm sure 30 years ago this hotel was lovely, but by golly not anymore.

My satnav didn't recognise the postcode on the location's website and I must have spent 15-20 minutes driving round the local area before I found the hotel. Apparently a lot of satnavs don't know the location and it's better instead to use the postcode from the garage next door. Arrival therefore could have been a bit less flustered. Once there, impressed with the facilities, the room, the pool/sauna and the breakfast.

Rooms are very small, no air conditioning system. Only small window to open for air. No elevator to use, you have to carry luggage upstairs!

The location and hotel are good, however, a simple request for a bottle of water was too much. I see this as a real failing for a hotel. It's a basic need and it wasn't met. I was warned beforehand that construction work was underway. This didn't affect me for my stay. I paid for breakfast when booking only to be sent an email a day later advising me that, if I hadn't booked breakfast, I could do so now at 60% of what I had paid. Further this, as I went in to breakfast a couple ahead of me hadn't paid and were charged 75% of what I paid. This seems ridiculous, why penalise those who have booked in advance when they should be encouraging early booking and offer a discount. So, because of this price gouging and the lack of water, I give this a meh!

Toilet leaked. Asked for room change, never got it. Breakfast was subpar. Renovations was taking place but wasnt told when booked. Hot tub was lukewarm on first day better the next. Reception staff was rude and not helpful at all.
