The staff, location, restaurant and common areas really nice. The room though, for an astronomical price, lacked blackout curtains or blinds. The building across the street has bright lights on 24/7, so you're sleeping in a brightly lit room. The AC was installed so it was blowing directly onto the bed. The light and the wind combined made it very difficult to sleep at all. For the price tag I would have expected better.

Property has great location. Travel by Roam bus is very accessible. The rooms are big enough to accommodate a family. The hot tub and sauna are great addition to the property and are very well maintained. A microwave in the room would not hurt as an addition ( microwave is located at first floor and there is only 1 available). There are helpful staff and there are also not so helpful. Overall, I’d recommend the property. It is clean and well maintained.

Overall, it was a very nice hotel and in a great location. Staff was helpful in where we could park with our SUV, since it did not fit in the garage. There are some rooms where the elevator does not go which is one of the rooms we had, so we had to walk up a flight of stairs with our luggage.

Terrible room, old and musky smell

We had a wonderful stay at Elk + Avenue Hotel! The hotel was very accommodating from start to finish. One of the biggest perks was the parking—it’s a huge advantage when staying in Banff and made exploring the area so much easier. The location couldn’t be better. It’s right in the heart of town, so you’re within walking distance of restaurants, shops, and everything Banff has to offer. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, offering great recommendations for restaurants and things to do around town. Our room was very clean, spacious, and had a beautiful view. We were really comfortable throughout our stay. One tip for future guests: if you’d like housekeeping during your stay, be sure to put the room cleaning sign on your door. I accidentally forgot to put mine out, so that’s on me! Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely stay at Elk + Avenue Hotel again. Highly recommend!

Very convenient to Banff restaurants and shopping!

We recently stayed in Room #160, with my husband and our dog and while we enjoyed our time in beautiful Banff, I feel it's important to share some constructive feedback. Unfortunately, the room did not meet the standard we were expecting based on the excellent reviews. The carpet appeared very dirty, and the bathroom needs attention. The shower head was not working at all, and we only discovered that we had to use the handheld shower instead. It would have been helpful if the front desk had informed us upon check-in, as we spent quite a while trying to figure out why the shower wouldn't work. The bathroom door was also noticeably damaged with large chips and really should be replaced. Small maintenance issues like these have a big impact on a guest's overall experience. We paid a premium to stay here because of the hotel's reputation, so it was disappointing to find Room #160 in this condition. Banff welcomes visitors from all over the world, and I believe the room should reflect the high standard that the area is known for. I hope the management will take this feedback positively and consider repairing and refreshing Room #160 for future guests. The staff were pleasant, and with some much-needed maintenance, I believe the guest experience could be greatly improved. Thank you, and I genuinely hope to see these improvements on a future visit.

This is a stunning 5 star property. Rooms are very spacious and can easily accommodate a family or group of friends. The living space made it feel like a home away from home. Bathrooms and toiletries were excellent. They have thought of every detail and accounted for it.

It is not very clean, for the price we paid we would have found something cleaner and better!!!

Great convenient location in town. Very convenient to have Roam/bus stop across the street to take to Gondola. Nice comfortable accommodations. Nothing fancy. Wonderful staff.

The location is great, the room was very nice, we had breakfast twice in the restaurant and that was nice. I think we must have visited at peak time because the crowds were huge and sometimes the staff was stretched thin. I’d recommend staying here, it’s central to Banff so getting around is easy.

Excellent location in Banff right downtown. Restaurant had limited menu but was very good. Need grab bars in the shower/bath since it was quite slippery.

The room is clean but the aircon is not properly well distributed too cold in lower part of the room but warm on upper room. NO BREAKFAST PREPARED. TOO EXPENSIVE
