Great location and the staff were lovely and welcoming. Unfortunately, the room was very disappointing, especially as we paid for an upgrade. There was peeling wallpaper, tired paintwork, and the bathroom wasn’t properly clean, dirty grout, stained sealant around the bath, and grime around the shower screen. The hotel has potential, but the room condition and standards really need improving.

Great location. Great check in staff at reception (Spanish/Latino man, sorry I missed your name) But room walls are thin - can easily hear corridor or neighbors especialy if they are drunk at night

The room was not great. However, it was a pet friendly room so that could have been the reason. Staff were very good, however, the payment said it didn’t go through on their system, but when checking our bank account, it had been taken.

It was quite dark and tired. But also very comfy bed and spacious Deluxe room.

Close to the local facilities, shops, bars, etc Nice restaurant on site with good choice of food on the menu. Bath in room with toiletries included.

Room is lovely, staff so lovely. But room was way to warm we didn’t sleep well. Windows didn’t open so we couldn’t get air in

A fabulous stay at this wonderful hotel. Friendly joyful staff, stunning breakfast, gorgeous decor, quiet at night and perfect location for the city. Loved it all!

The customer service on check in was great but on check out I stood for a long period of time without being acknowledged at the desk by the person on reception. He could have said, ‘I will be with you in a moment’ instead of completely ignoring me and he didn’t ask me if my stay was ok. My room was lovely but during the night there was loud noises like a washing machine was running.

Room (bathroom especially) had a bad smell. Lights in room kept cutting out even though the key card was in the appropriate slot

Great location - ok check in - room was ok but faulty sink plug hole in bathroom. Pillows are not great very lumpy - At breakfast didn't have all items available, was offered extra other items, partners eggs where under cooked had to be returned, then no bacon brought, had to go back but was dealt with promptly by server...

Wasn’t off to a great start when there were men standing in the doorway of the hotel smoking whilst we were coming to check in. There was no1 on the check-in desk when we arrived at 3.15pm. Room was boiling hot, and decor was dated and the room looked tired - banged up skirting boards. Bathroom needs a deep clean as was dusty around the sink unit. Zero ambience in the bar and had a 10min wait on ice whilst 3x staff were cleaning around the place - lights much too bright in the bar. Used to be a good bar. Was not asked how the stay was on check-out. This was the second time we’ve stayed (first time was years ago) and second time we’ve not been asked how the stay was by the reception

Room is nice , big and comfortable . Check in and out were smooth and staff friendly.

The Malmaison is centrally located. The breakfast was very good but the best part was the staff. The manager who booked us in was very courteous and and went over and above in upgrading our room, sorting a late checkout and making the stay that little bit more special for my partner's birthday. It was much appreciated.
