This hotel is very clean. They offer breakfast. The staff are very friendly. The hotel is within walking distance to some of the main attractions in Berlin and close to the metro.

Great stay at the Mercure! my expedia status was acknowledged and was given a very large room, the staff were amazing, great rooms with balconies, all in all a great choice!

Nice hotel in a convenient, yet quiet feeling, area.

My 3rd time at this hotel and i must say its gone down hill, its clean but the staff are not welcoming atall can not even be bothered to say good morning, having said that the bloke behind the bar was first rate happy and chatty, altho the staff did nothing wrong i think most of them would benefit from a course in customer relations.

3-night stay for Christmas markets. Hotel was on the whole very good. Can't comment on quality of breakfast as at €50 per couple it was too pricy for us. (A good selection of cafes nearby). Used the hotel bar each night. First night was poor. Bar tender admitted it wasnt his normal shift but couldnt even supply 2 glasses of red wine. Disappointing for a 4* hotel. Following 2 nights much better but still pricey at €35 for 2 glasses of wine (0.2 litre) each. Reception staff helpful and friendly.

We stayed at the Mercure Checkpoint Charlie for three days in November, just before the 35th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. The area is dense with history, much of it dark. Excellent location, walkable, U-bahn, lots of restaurants. Our double room was huge and very well-appointed. Would definitely stay again.

Comfortable and Quiet.

Great location. Lovely staff. Really huge room. Very pleasant for a family stay. Good breakfast. Fresh pancakes a huge hit with my son. Bar man lovely and remembered our order every evening. Loved it

We had a very spacious family room, the location was ideal for getting around Berlin and the hotel was very comfortable.

Breakfast was good but the same every day. It was a nice but oddly laid out suite. The toilet is by the front door which is quite far from the bedroom. Staff was polite but not very helpful.

Very well situated hotel with helpful staff. The room was lovely and comfortable but I have marked it down slightly because the bedroom was a bit dated. The bathroom, however, was lovely and I am guessing it has been recently updated

The hotel wes very well placed...close to many attractions. Rooms were clean and very large. Service was prompt and courteous and good breakfast.

Smell from sewer can’t be ignored. The cleaning staff had to open the window every morning to easy the smell which ended up with mosquitoes in the room. The front desk staff were not friendly, not even say hi back when we greeted them.

The Mercure hotel has many excellent attributes like location. The rooms are very spacious, quiet, clean and well maintained.The staff is friendly. Some negatives: There is pressure to forego the daily housekeeping which seems the usual protocol in Germany. Our previous hotel offered a free drink for each person per skipped night but Mercure only offered 100 points in a hotel system we are not interested in joining. This seems chintzy. In addition our room coffee service was always missing something and we had to go to the front desk to replenish. The final negative was that the breakfast for the two of us was $56! This seemed over the top and we went to a very nice cafe nearby.
