After looking at a number of places to stay for our 20th anniversary, we settled on the Royal Sonesta. This place was absolutely amazing, very nice and clean, with kind and welcoming staff. It's right on the beach, with loungers and umbrellas available for hotel guests. There's a bar and restaurant right on the beach as well. The food and drinks were very good, and the swim up bar was nice once it reopened 5 days into our 7 days stay.
If I were to note some areas for improvement, I would start with the refrigerator in our room. It kept freezing items we put into it, even at the lowest setting. Meals and drinks at the hotel proved to be too expensive for us after only a few days, so we stopped at a grocery store for supplies. However we ended up with frozen yogurt and fruit in the morning after placing those items in the refrigerator. The USB ports built into the furniture also did not work for charging at all. Additionally only 2 of the 3 elevators worked the entire time we were there.
Beyond that, I greatly enjoyed our stay here. Every staff member I met was warm and kind, our room and all the facilities were clean and beautiful with so much greenery around.
