The hotel was very nice but the reason for 3 stars was room selected from hotels.com was a bad experience. They gave us the room right by the entrance door and the ground floor which got loads of noise from both inside and outside and they didn’t give us any heads up about this, we would not choose this room if we were informed. The room was very tiny as well

Very clean and beautiful hotel, nice employees,excellent breakfast

Our room was spacious and looked like it was in a historic lodge--brick and wood accents with a huge fireplace, nice seating area, and quiet but a very convenient walk to the Main Square and all of the sites. We loved Bruges and it's medieval charm and this hotel oozed charm and old world comfort. We would definitely stay here again if we are ever fortunate enough to return to Bruges.

Excellent experience

Room was stupidly hot, despite it being 6 degrees outside. No method of improving temperature or air quality in room due to inefficient air con (which we had to have on 24 hours) and noisy busy cobbled road outside window which meant having window open not an option. Room was not Shabby-Chic, but just Shabby with yellowed walls, peeling painted woodwork and threadbare carpet. Windowless bathroom only had 2 low power lights over sink and bath was in darkness permanently. Tiny thin towels. Avoid room 10 at all costs.

Amazing stay, lovely staff, great views only a 5 mins walk from the centre which is full of life.

We booked the library suite and it was the most romantic and picturesque hotel room we have ever stayed in! We had a gorgeous view over the canal and we loved how cozy the room felt. Highly recommend this hotel!

Very unique, lovely staff, great breakfast

Arriving at Martin's Relais on a very grey day, there was a little sense of disappointment at the slightly tired external features. Do not however judge a book by its cover, our deluxe suite overlooking the canal, was fantastic. Spacious, well equipped and relaxing. It was great. The staff throughout were helpful, constructive and friendly. The location was pleasantly quiet, and only a short walk from the centre. I loved our 5 day stay and can't wait to visit again.

Had a wonderful stay. Room was ready early and it was very large with many traditional features. Bed was very comfy and ample supplies when the room was remade. Staff were great and very accommodating and there is luggage storage letting you make the most of any time before you leave It’s on the canal at Jan Van Aik square, away from the busier streets but only 5 mins from the main square. Plenty of restaurants nearby and a great breakfast spot @Toastie nearby

I LOVE this hotel. It's gorgeous. And our room was fantastic! I didn't want to leave. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Lovely old traditional building with character features, room was lovely and overlooking the canal/river, breakfast was generous and the location was very good. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful hotel in excellent location , we had room 28 it was a large comfort room with canal view right at the top it was nice and quiet, very spacious with large bathroom. With tranquil music piped throughout the hotel and candles dotted about it had a very relaxing feel. Breakfast was lovely we had a nice table with canal view. We stayed for two nights and had a lovely time.

Excellent hotel with great location - close enough but not too close to market square - 3 mins walk. Canal frontage and quietly elegant

Close to everything one would want to do in Brugge. The historic touch of the hotel is charming. We had a rather large room on the 2nd -top floor that overlooked the canal. Loved the location and charm!

Excellent property and staff. Larger than average room and bathroom. Big comfortable bed! What you don’t always see in Europe.
