It was truly the best trip of my life. My stay was awesome and I would like to give a big shout out to Boris, Ivan the Dj, Idali, Kenia, and Milton the bartender for all having great hospitality and making my experience beautiful. I truly couldn’t have picked a better stay. Thank you so so so much and I will be back.

It’s a family-friendly place, which is great. The buffet food is decent. The facilities are okay, but that’s not a major issue. The location is convenient, as it’s near 5th Avenue. We visited during the Sargasso season, and all the hotels had a fishy smell, which I didn’t like. However, the staff, especially Jesus, were very friendly and kind. I’ll give it another chance in the future.

Staff was fantastic! Room was great! Large variety of food choices at the buffets and the a la cartes were excellent (we did Japanese and Italian), definitely will return!

Rooms were spacious and clean and the air conditioner was fantastic and kept room very cool. Bathroom was large and clean and the shower had good water pressure so I really had no complaints about the room or the garden view location. My time visiting was during the seaweed season where it becomes overwhelming for any resort to keep the beach free from seaweed. However, this resort did a nice job curtailing some of the seaweed by placing a net out in the sea about 75 yards or so which prevented a significant amount from directly landing on the resort beach. It wasn't able to prevent all of it, but compared to other resorts the Coco Beach appeared in better shape and had a team that tried to daily remove much of the seaweed that landed on beach. Even with the net and the removal, the sheer amount of seaweed kept us from using the beach amenities like kayaks and snorkels. While I will say that Yulianna in guest services and Marco in the Sports Bar were great and we enjoyed our interactions and they were great at their jobs, many of the bartenders and servers didn't seem to enjoy their job or waiting on customers. We experienced a language barrier vs. other resorts we visited and the bartenders and servers told us "no" without alternatives more than we have experienced. Samurai was an entertaining restaurant with a good staff and chef, but the Italian and Mexican restaurants at the sister property Playacar were pretty disappointing in regards to service & food quality.

Rooms were clean, bathroom decent size just didn’t like that the toilet was so close to the shower. Staff was amazing. I went now in May and unfortunately was met with a beach with so much seawood but that’s my fault for going during this time. The food… gets a 0/10. With the exception with the mexican restaurant that you have to reserve which was a 10/10 and (not the italian or japanese because i didn’t have a chance to go to) everything else was not good. No variation, no traditional mexican food for the most. Do not come here if you want good food for your stay.

This resort is a good option for the price point if you’re looking for a relaxing place to spend the week. Word of advice make sure if you select all inclusive that it is documented or else you will be charged $100 extra per night upon arrival to add it at that time.

The only place we ate for 9 days was the buffet. We chose this because the food was always delicious and the staff truly feel like friends. The hotel has wonderful people, is clean and lovely. Thank you for a great experience.

Checked in and went to the beach. A friend that was staying at a near by hotel came by to visit. Was immediately confronted by security and escorted to the front desk because she did not have an armband. Paid an additional $60 per night for her to visit!! The next night I was questioned by hotel staff because they assumed that I wasn’t a guest because I had a different colored armband but it was the armband given to my by the front desk. GET IT TOGETHER!!

The Reef is a really nice resort, nice beach, pool, views and one of the best beach inlets with the least amount of seaweed! Dislikes were all the food was bland with little to no flavour but the best restaurant was the Japanese restaurant it’s just like Benihana’s but of course you pay extra for it. All the drinks also tasted the same no matter what you got unless you were taking shots.

This hotel was amazing, super clean and beautiful, sparkling pool. The beach was well maintained-cleaned and all seaweed picked up by noon. The staff were all super friendly and helpful, especially Kenneth, Samuel and Daniel. They get to know you and call out your names, even hugging us when we left. All of my pictures were amazing! We did not want to do a timeshare/program at the property but ended up doing a 90 minute presentation (including breakfast). In return for our time, we got 2 beach massages, 2 premium bracelets to visit the other sister property, top shelf liquor and hibachi grill for the day, and transportation back to the airport. This all was free for giving up 90 minutes! We had an amazing time and I would totally recommend this hotel to anyone!!!
