We have upgraded to the Level each time we have stayed at the Melia. While the facility was very nice the amenities were lacking. Very little food options other than salty snacks. All of the other Melia’s Level have offered much more from a food perspective. While the room upgrade was very nice the overall experience was lacking due to the Level amenities.

Room, lobby and restaurants are very clean and beautifully designed. Customer service is also very good and helpful and the restaurants are very good. However, the hotel suffers from maintenance issues. The front door slider was off its track and held open the 3 days we were there. The elevator had some sort of operator glitch so that it wouldn’t stop on sequential floors when it was called. It wasn’t too bad but occasionally we would need to wait a few extra minutes for the elevator to stop on our floor even though it passed us several times. It is glass elevator so we can see it operating (very cool) and there was a sign noting the issue. And, breakers in our room flipped twice shutting off outlets and air conditioning. Finally, the women’s room sauna and showers are in rough shape with exposed metal screws (very hot!) and moldy caulking. If the hotel could solve these issues, I would rate it highly.

Walking distance of the Guggenheim and the centre with bars and restaurants. Well recomendable and will return if I need to go back to Bilbao.

Great location. Well connected by the Metro or the tram system that takes you to the old town every ten minutes. Lovely staff.

Great property in the best location in Bilbao! Staff were super helpful and the room was amazing. Bed was super comfortable!

I would like to thank the staff for their outstanding assistance on June 5. The two reception staff members wearing grey jackets, particularly Adama and his colleague, were exceptionally helpful and professional. When we checked out at around 9:30 a.m. on June 5, we accidentally left my wife’s wedding ring behind. Thanks to their swift action, attention to detail, and genuine willingness to help, they quickly located the ring and ensured it was safely returned to us. Their efficiency, honesty, and excellent customer service turned what could have been a very stressful situation into a positive experience. We are extremely grateful for their help and would like to recognize them for their outstanding service. I also loved the 10th floor lounge

Great location and facilities. I enjoyed an evening swim in the heated pool. The breakfast was delicious, I would stay again.

Very poor welcome at reception. The man didn't even smile or greet me, just asked 'do I have a reservation'. Room was too warm and the air conditioning didn't cool the room down sufficiently, couldn't sleep properly. I drank the complimentary coffee, didn't get replenished so had no hot drink in my room for the remainder of my stay.

We had a great stay at Meliá Hotel in Bilbao, from our initial welcome, to our lovely meals and snacks in the Level breakfast room and lounge. We felt genuinely cared for each day by the entire staff, especially Nekané, and Yolanda. Our room was clean, spacious, and well-equipped. And the location was central to all the activities we were interested in. The park across the street is gorgeous and shady and had lots of activities for children. Indoor self parking was reasonable although the parking structure would have been challenging with a larger vehicle.

Definitely not a 5 star hotel! We booked it because it’s a 5* that allows dogs. When we arrived, there was no bell person. They only had one person doing the door and they were busy with a large tour bus. When we mentioned it to the two men at the front desk, Guilherme and David, it was brushed off with an arrogance that upset my husband. He asked they tell a manager that a hotel that size should have two door people for a 5 star hotel. One of them went to speak to the female guest services manager, Anya, we came out and carried our 5 pieces of luggage by hand. They didn’t have a cart and the men were useless. She was great. Hotel amenities were crap. No shower cap which is a basic for that calibre of hotel. One ply toilet paper. It just wasn’t good. Breakfast was okay. Snacks at the level were good. Hotel was severely under staffed. We would go back for the dogs and the location.
