No working air conditioning and put in a room with no window. Very hot and stuffy on the hottest day of the year. Told my only option was to book elsewhere, but no close hotels left and it was already 9pm as I was travelling for work and had a very long day, up since 5am and just wanted to get dinner not do more travelling and sorting a new last minute reservation. They did move me to another room with a window that opened after I insisted the room was not suitable in the heat, but offered no compensation. There was no warning about the broken AC on hotels.com at the point of booking.
The internet was slow and it meant I struggled to even browse for other locations or hotels and was stressful to arrive into this environment.
At breakfast, as a solo traveller I needed to eat alone, but when I got up to go to the buffet they took away my juice and coffee even though my bag was at the table and it was frustrating that their staff did this and meant I felt I couldn't get up to get more juice in case they also cleared my food
