I enjoyed a wonderful 4 night vacation here at Posada Mariposa in Playacar! Everything was fine, nothing could have been better, just perfect stay with no problems, right on Quinta Avenida! I would highly recommend this beautiful hotel and nice team of people, for everyone looking for a boutique bargain hotel and enjoyable vacation in PDC! I'm so very glad I chose the Mariposa! And I honestly believe you will be happy staying here too!!!

This is our first time staying at a boutique hotel at Playa del Carmen after 9 consecutive years with all inclusive resorts. We thought we tried something different. I really like the authenticity of the hotel, we stayed at the staffs were really nice and our stay included continental breakfast at a nearby restaurant. The room is clean, there are towels for shower and for beach. Card accessibility to the room control the lighting and A/C which work really well. There is a coffee maker and fridge in the room; one day coffee is included but we brought our own coffee mix which we found convenient as we just use the coffee maker for hot water. We basically buy bottled water everyday, there are convenience stores everywhere...you can't go wrong. The items I missed from our other all inclusive stays were the pool, I think it's an old building conversion so having a pool on site not really an option for them. It's definitely nice to have. The other thing I noticed is there are no hooks in the room or bathroom where we can hang our towel after use or before walking into the shower. We have to either lay nearby sink or hang on the shower door. They are definitely not deal breakers. All in all, it's a lovely hotel. We will definitely consider staying here again if we decide to return to Playa del Carmen. There is a bar/ restaurant right across from the hotel called La Vagabunda; they have live bands playing in the afternoon and at night. Really nice!

Room was great, maid service good, staff friendly. Only issue was the deodorizer that sprayed you when you entered the building. Smell was strong in lobby and elevator, making me feel ill.

My husband and I had a wonderful weekend. The room was spotless, grat location and beautiful gardens that go up to the rooftop. We stayed in the Master room with a jacuzzi and it was quite and private. The staff was courteous and very helpful from the beginning of our booking to the time of checkout. Saul defenetly make our stay feel like home. He answer all our questions and helped us with recomendations for entrainment and diner, he also help us arrange transportation that was on time and safe. Thank you Saul for your welcoming. We absolutely recomend this place to say.

Hotel was located on the Main Street with easy access to shopping, eateries and bars. The only drawback was the loud music from the local bars and the occasional sound of furniture being moved around in the room above me.

The top floor was very nice

A quiet, leafy, hidden gem. I don’t always review (share) my special discoveries, but I must for this one. Many properties on the main drag are great until the thumping discos and live music nearby rob light sleepers of rest. In this peaceful place I’ve never had a restless night, a dirty room, met grumpy staff. Since my discovery 3 years ago, I’ve never even considered staying anywhere else.

A hidden and reasonably priced gem. You have to be paying attention to see its entrance. Staff always friendly. Desk manager Maria is always professional and welcoming. The Lobby is cool, peaceful and leafy. Nights are very quiet despite being roughly midway on the walking street. I’ve made some mistakes booking nice properties too close to the hubbub and all-night disco thumping further up the Main Drag

For what I paid I absolutely expected much less. The staff was serviced based and very helpful. My room was kept extremely clean. I wasn't expecting the Ritz Carlton at the rate I paid with whom I work with I was just expecting a good place to stay that was clean and convenient. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the property for being an older hotel and the service was excellent. I will be staying there again soon. My office is just down the street and when I come back for a visit I now have a very inexpensive place to stay.
