There were peacocks. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff were nice.

The room was smelly and old. The receptionist did not speak english. I was not very satisfied overall.

This is probably my sixth or seventh stay at this hotel but it will be my last. I suspect the management has changed here again, and it shows. The room air-conditioning was utterly inadequate. Different members of staff gave different reasons for this but at the end of the day a five star hotel should have well functioning air-conditioning. They were physically switching it off. Constant complaining at the front desk got it switched back on for a while. I couldn’t get my room below 24° for the entire stay. And they even brought me a fan for it to get down for that. Not very many of the front desk staff have a decent grasp of English. Again, in a five star hotel that serves so many foreigners, English-speaking staff is a must. The Wi-Fi in the room is also inadequate. The internet isn’t western as it was. This hotel is a little way out of the main town. You have to get a taxi to and from anywhere. The taxis are very cheap so no problem on cost; the problem is with availability. Ask the front desk for the taxi and you can wait up to 30 minutes. The local taxes operate a surge system as well, so sometimes you will be asked to pay more for one to come out to the hotels location. The hotel is a lot quieter than it usually is, and I suspect reasons like I have outlined are contributory factors to that. One of my local helpers told me that “everyone” is now staying at the new Dongcheng International. That is where I will be staying next time.

The hotel was practically empty, it had a The Shining-esque feel to it. Most aspects seemed great, but ended up being disappointing. The outdoor pool is massive, but has a layer of dirt on the surface. There are three restaurants, the Brazilian restaurant had a buffet which was seemingly left untouched all day, with the meat being poor quality. The others seem very untrustworthy. The rooms were large, though clearly very old. There was a lovely bath, though the plug was too small for the plughole. A huge breakfast buffet, though much of the food was of poor quality, the yoghurts were 2 weeks out of date.There is a bar, though half the drinks aren't stocked, and the bartenders seemed to panic when asking for Cocktails that were on their menu. The actual room was clean and it was well maintained by the cleaning staff. The staff didn't speak much english, but were helpful when they tried. Not recomended.

It’s a good hotel for the price you pay. Good for business trips, as the room is spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is very limited tho, with very few fruit options.

Plentiful varied breakfast, Chinese & Western style. Great omelettes! Staff helpful and friendly but remember to bring clean, crisp banknotes to chage up as dirty, creased or otherwise distressed ones will be refused!

Extremely pleasant hotel in lovely surroundings.Very traditional furnishings and fittings. Staff polite and friendly. Excellent choice of food for breakfast. My stay was good value for money. Away from the city so quiet but short taxi ride if required to go into town.

Great hotel. Pool is always out. I stay here 5-6 times per year and earlier 80 % of the time that amazing outdoor pool is closed.

Peaceful and beautiful location would like to have stayed longer

One of the Best features for this hotel is the Park nearby. Nice views, clean, safe and inspiring if you are a runner like me Other than that Hotel is big, clean, great rooms and an excellent breakfast included in most of the rates

Great resort and stay. Bed is hard as a rock. Brazilian restaurant was more Chinese Brazilian. Not typical Brazilian food.

My first time in Dongguan for relax and this Hotel was a best option to relaxing.

The room is dated, including all the towels. Unless you are ready to jump into the pool or golfing, no amentity to speak of.

despite a "bad start" as the reservation was gone through yet - everything went out fine. Kindly, friendly, very service minded. The man from room service who came around 02.00 AM was really extreme service minded. Also Jen from Philippine was excellent both check in / out. My room no. was 391 - night between 20th - 21st August, 2016

The reception couldn't find my booking record and took quite some time to figure it out. And there's no option with breakfast on hotels.com, and the separately it charges 150RMB per person - that's too much!

Good Hotel

I stayed here back when it was a Sofitel. In my opinion it has gone downhill but it is still a nice place. Tried to order wine off of their wine list but they were out of more than they had.

Tangla is a little bit old but still okay, environement is very green and quiet, the swimming pool is huge and there are good food options. The only thing is that it is quite remote from city center so when I want to be close to mall and live area, I suggest to stay at Kande
