We checked into Turim Europa Hotel late Sunday night (around 11:30 PM), and the staff were very accommodating and welcoming despite the late hour, which we really appreciated after a long day of travel. Our room had two twin beds, and everything was very clean upon arrival—the beds, linens, and bathroom were all well-maintained. The water pressure in the shower was excellent, and the water got very hot, which was a big plus. The location is great and within walking distance to many highlights. It’s about a 45-minute walk to Rossio Square and Baixa. It’s also about a 10-minute walk to the bus depot and Hotel Fénix Lisboa, where many tour pickups take place. There are also some convenient food options nearby. Shakar Coffee next door is delicious, though it has limited hours (9 AM–4 PM). Lídia’s Restaurant is not very vegetarian-friendly. We really enjoyed Buga Ramen, which had vegan options and is about a 5-minute walk—we would definitely go back. Gurkha Restaurant (Indian/Nepalese), about an 8-minute walk away, was just okay. However, the biggest issue was the heating. The hotel confirmed they had turned off heating for the season, so the system only blew cold air. With nighttime temperatures in Lisbon around 9–11°C, the room was very cold and uncomfortable, making it hard to sleep. Housekeeping was inconsistent—floors were only cleaned on the first day, though towels were replaced and beds made daily. Checkout early this morning was easy, and an Uber to the airport cost under $11 CAD. Overall: clean hotel, good location, helpful staff—but lack of heating and inconsistent cleaning made the stay uncomfortable. We would only stay here again if the heating system was active.

Affordable hotel with nice, very clean rooms and super comfortable beds. Fairly outdated but our room was well maintained. The only issue we had during our stay was that the room was almost unbearably hot- at night we had to open the window (which then meant it was loud from the street outside) and turn the AC down as low as possible and even then it was incredibly warm. There is also a stereo system in the room that plays each time the key card is inserted, and requires being manually turned off each time. Once we figured all that out it was fine and we enjoyed our stay at the hotel.

Spacious room, decent price and great location. There’s no charging points by the bed which is really inconvenient after a long day. And the room got really hot which they couldn’t fix; window wouldn’t stay open so they gave us a towel to fold and keep at the window. Definitely not a 4 star stay

We stayed for 5 nights. On the first night, we discovered the window was broken and did not close properly, so we could hear all the street noise. We asked to change rooms the next morning. The staff first said no rooms were available, then later agreed to change it, but kept delaying the new room’s availability and expected us to spend the day waiting around. Although the breakfast was good, the staff were rude and unfriendly. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel.

This hotel is a decent and comfortable option for a short stay in Lisbon. The room I stayed in was slightly small and could benefit from a few updates, especially when it comes to the furniture, which feels a bit dated. However, the bed was surprisingly comfortable, which definitely improved the overall experience. One thing to keep in mind is the noise. I wouldn’t strongly recommend this hotel to very noise-sensitive guests, as the windows don’t seal perfectly and you can hear some of the outside sounds. Still, you can always ask the reception in advance for a “quieter room,” which might help. The location is fairly good: about a 30-minute walk to the city center and roughly 10 minutes from the nearest metro station. There are also plenty of markets and convenience stores nearby, which makes the area practical and easy to navigate. Overall, it’s a reasonable hotel for the price — comfortable, well-located, but with a few areas that could use improvement.
