The room was fine, the was all the basic amenities you would expect and a fan, which was very much needed in the hot weather. In the small bathroom, the shower enclosure had mould in places and the extractor fan had a lot of dust (?) on it. The housekeeping staff ignored the fact I said I did not need anything doing in the room on the second day and came in the room when I was out. This was possibly due to poor language skills, however the wish of a guest and their right to privacy should be respected, whether they are in the room or not, as long as there is no proper reason to check a room. This was the first time this has happened to me in a hotel, usually you can either put a 'do not disturb' or 'no housekeeping' note on the door or tell staff your wishes and they do not enter your room. The room had very creaky floors, despite the thick carpet, it is an old hotel with no lift, but it is set in lovely grounds with some beautiful trees, so a pleasant place to stay which is a short walk from shops and eating places.

I stayed at the Lismoyne on one of the hottest nights of the year. My room was inevitably hot, and as the building is older, there is no A/C. But the fan that was provided made it as bearable as possible. The room and bathroom were spotless, and the bathroom spacious. My only criticism of the room was a lack of power points. I was able to enjoy a delicious dinner and glass of wine in the very pleasant garden. Service from the friendly staff was excellent, and as a solo traveller I felt comfortable in the relaxed atmosphere here. Breakfast was disappointing. The cooked breakfast was good as far as I experienced it, but the cold selection was not great quality, and I was surprised to see ready sliced as the only bread option in 2026. I do think charging residents for parking is a bit cheeky! Overall though, it was a comfortable stay and a pleasant change from the chain hotels.

We booked this hotel on the hottest day of the year specifically because the room we chose was advertised as having air conditioning. On arrival, we were told that our room didn’t have air conditioning and that none of the rooms in the hotel did, which was extremely disappointing as this was the main reason we booked. The first room we were shown also had a very strong unpleasant smell, so we asked if there was an alternative. The receptionist was dismissive and unhelpful throughout the conversation, which made the situation even more frustrating. After some discussion, we were eventually moved to a smaller room that did have air conditioning. While we appreciated having somewhere comfortable to stay, it wasn’t the room we had booked. The way the situation was handled left us disappointed, and unfortunately we wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

The rooms I have stayed in have been very clean. The shower is great, easy to use and to get to the right temperature. A bit stingy with the tea bags and 2 biscuits though. The reception staff were quite friendly but I didn't expect to have to pay £5 to park the car on site. One of the rooms I stayed in was a little tired looking and the windows refused to close properly. The hairdryer is pretty good and beds are comfortable. It was lovely and quiet. Nice towels and toiletries. Nice atmosphere and historical feel to the lobby and staircase. I love it.

Lovely hotel, ever so peaceful, staff efficient and charming. Breakfast was good and service efficient. Sadly, the most important element was disappointing. The Bed. Way too soft for me. It’s a shame because everything else was as good as perfect.

I was worried about taking a single room but actually it was a decent size with everything I needed such as iron and hair dryer. The (very small) bathroom had great water pressure and hot water throughout my stay. Front desk were super friendly and helped organise taxis etc for me. The hotel has ample parking and is in a quiet location. I’d never considered staying there before but I’m very likely to choose it again. I think they could make a few investments here and there which could really improve it and make it a great stopover for all.
