We stayed here briefly, just for a night, before our flight. The hotel was very centrally located, minutes from the Guggenheim, so perfect for a quick stop in Bilbao. The staff was super helpful with recommendations and very polished. My only gripe was that the AC didn’t work well, but the windows do open so we were comfortable.

I stayed on the1st Floor, which was open to loud outside late night noise that kept me awake having previously paid for rooms on higher floors. The toiletries in the shower area were not working properly and the switch between shower and bath was tight.

Staff were freindly and helpfull. Breakfast was plentiful and with a wide variety of choice.

Great location. Just had a tiny room with a skylight - not a window, much less a window I could see out of, and definitely not facing the river. For the price, that was disappointing.

Very good hotel, centrally placed however bar shut at 11pm on Monday and Tuesday which was far too early for a hotel in a vibrant city

Excellent location for visiting both the Guggenheim and the old town

Hotel Hesperia was a wonderful location between old town, new plaza, Guggenheim & transportation! Everyone was friendly & helpful!

The staff was very helpful, and it was great that they had water/coffee/ice and snacks in the lobby. The cleaning staff was also very detailed and great when we had any requests.

We had bad WIFI in our room the first night. Way better after changing to another room plus with a nice view to the river. Location was perfect. Spectacular breakfast. We loved our stay.

Wasn’t a fan of their dinner/ options and the very worn out carpet. Other than that very nice staff and good location.

Very close to everything all walkable.Underground parking convenient.Breakfast was adequate. Rooms were a little small, not much storage, especially for 2 large suitcases, which had to stay on floor and we had to walk over them to get to door. I’m not keen on open plan bathrooms which this had, but we knew that when booking.

The staff was very nice and accommodating. We got a bigger room with a welcome dessert which was appreciated. The bathroom smells very bad though… it’s not dirty so we think it’s because the property is older (the bathroom shows some signs of chipping and stains that just can’t get off). We were only there for a short stay and we were super tired so didn’t bother asking for a different room (we opened the window and sprayed some perfume in the bathroom and that helped a lot) although I don’t doubt the staff would totally find a different room for us if we asked. Every staff we encountered was super friendly.

We were offered a river-view from for an extra 20 euros and having turned that down it almost felt as if we were being punished by having a room with one velux window in the eaves. Be aware that unless you arrive at the hotel on the riverside road driving South there is nowhere to pull in and the car park isn't obvious. We ended up parking on the street first and then checking in, fortunately we didn't get a ticket. If you have a large car you're going to hate the car park which is very tight especially if you need to get down to the second level. On the plus side the beds are comfortable and the rooms have plenty of space and storage.

I think this is a great hotel at a reasonable price. It is within walking distance of so many sights with buses and trains a couple of minutes walk away if you prefer to ride. The staff is very nice, there is a bar with a nice selection of food and drinks. We were able to park our rental car in the park garage @ 26€ per day. It was great to be able to come back to our room and enjoy the air conditioning after being out in the heat all afternoon exploring the city.

Great hotel, perfect for our 5 day break in the city. Walking distance to many great restaurants, in new town, Guggenheim and the metro. Lovely peaceful location, beside river. Friendly staff, all the receptionists spoke English which I wasn’t expecting. Breakfast spread was amazing.
