A very loud fire alarm went off at 4am and went on for quite a while. I was already running on the stairs when it stopped. Goodbye sleep. The following morning I was expecting some apologies but no. When I mentioned it, the guy at the reception very cheerfully said "Oh, that. Yes, there was no fire, it was just a coffee machine. But so we know that the alarm works!" Which is Mecklenburg-Vorpommern idea of sense of humour, maybe.

Standard hotel. Unfortunately it was fully booked and can't offer enough seats at the restaurant. Guest have to search for another place to eat outside of hotel. The rest is ok.

Nice hotel, great location

It was excellent the people were friendly and the staff was kind to get my room up and running and quickly. They were brilliant in communicating in English when I struggled in Deutsch for a bit.

Great hotel, very welcoming and helpful staff

Unfortunately we had a quick stop but the night staff and the morning were very happy and pleasant. Lovely room, great breakfast buffet and across from a castle. We are looking to stay there again on our way back.

The hotel served us very well as a base for exploring the town and the visiting the Schloss. We did not find many restaurants in town - but found the hotel restaurant to be quite good and reasonably priced.

The hotel was convenient to visiting the city but also quiet. The staff was extremely helpful and professional.

for a room with a bed it was ok .. but internet was not working, poor information about hotel facilities, hotel staff not good at english , room was dirty, no air-conditioning in the room.

The hotel is located in walking distance from the old town and directly across the castle. The hotel staff is friendly, also explaining where to find what in the neighborhood. The breakfast is really good with fresh fruit, salmon, other fish and also sweet things. It was a nice stay and we would come back.

Little hard to get to, my GPS did not recognize the address. Use one of the cross streets. Many streets near the town square are closed off also, so took a while to find it. The bed was a typical tiny German single, but if you like an elegant older hotel with 12' ceilings, this is your place. Internet is 3 euro. The breakfast was good. I was enroute to Griefswald, and the hotel is quite far out of the way, but a lovely place in a lovely, historic town.

Overall a very nice place to stay. In my case, I was in the need of a place to sleep for the night, when driving through Europe from Rostock. The only thing I found bad, was the sound isolation of the room: I was unable to sleep without my ear plugs. I tried sleeping without, but woke up 3 times between 11pm and 0300am. Either it was because of dog barking, or noise from rooms in the vicinity. I don't know if I was unlucky, and that if this was a particular bad night, but I was bothered by too much noise coming from outside the room. If I didn't carry ear plugs, I would not been able to sleep well. That said, everything else was very nice. Laid back, clean, and very cosy and homey. I would recommend this place to my friends, but tell them to pack ear plugs, just in case.

The hotel is conveniently located on the edge of the town centre in easy walking distance to the sights, shops and bars. The rooms are simply furnished and are a little dated but comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good.

Acceptable hotel for a cheap price. Good breakfast. Small room with very simple furniture. We only stayed in the hotel for one night during our travel down to Croatia.

We have stayed here several times. We use it as an overnight stop in the middle of our driving trips between Stockholm and Prague. The rooms are extremely spacious and comfortable. Helps to know a little german as the staff does not always speak english.

Trevligt hotell med mycket vänlig personal som var serviceorienterade. Ligger vackert i lugna omgivningar nära slottet och centrum. Mycket hundvänligt, med möjlighet att ta med hunden till ett separat frukostrum.

Super expérience dans un beau cadre. Confort et service très bien. Emplacement intéressant pour un séjour. Tres bon rapport qualité-prix.

Dejligt hotel med god morgenmad. Venligt personale. Eneste minus var en meget stor hovedpude, som min nakke ikke kunne lide. Trods det kommer vi gerne igen.

Ist zu empfehlen. Allerdings nur, wenn das Zimmer nicht im EG in der Nähe des Speiseraums ist. Da ist morgens ab 6 Uhr einfach schon zu viel los.
