I was given room 7 very small with a sloping roof in more than one place, shower flooded as drainage was very poor, door into bathroom hit sink as you opened it, and it was a tiny sink, toilet felt like you were in a cupboard, all in all it just was not nice at all, when I asked for another room £70 was what extra I would have to pay. The whole of the so called hotel was totally out dated, extension cables in the room running 4 items off it. View from room window see photo. Will not be staying there again.

Lovely location and tranquil setting. However our stay did not include breakfast and at £13 each we gave it a miss. Plenty of parking outside, although there were very few staff around, we had to call the hotel to get someone at reception.

The room was clean, but dated. The staff were friendly and very helpful We didn't have breakfast there, but only because we had other arrangements. We did have dinner the three nights we stayed, all of the meals were excellent and well presented. Parking was not a problem, enough space for all guests and staff. The hotel is an old property that oozes character and the garden is quiet and relaxing. The room we had does need some tlc to be honest, but for 3 nights it was acceptable.

Room was small but clean. As the weather was very hot they had put a small fan tower in the room which was extremely noisy but did cool the room down. Paid £13 each for breakfast and you had quite a good choice. Tea/coffee, several fresh juices, hot food cooked for you which was excellent. Nice bar area to relax. The price for our stay was extremely good value and we would definitely stay again.

Unfortunately it wasn't a good experience, the restaurant was close and the bar. As for the room, it was so small you couldn't board a dog in it, 15 minutes later I booked another room in the Dragonfly Hotel ...so no it wasn't a good experience

Good location, characteristic hotel and restaurant.

We were pleasantly surprised that after seeing a few so-so reviews, that was not our experience at all - we had a great stay! The house and gardens are beautiful and while you'd expect a little wear and tear of a property that age, it was very impressive and looked after. We had one of the lodges at the side of the garden and really liked the little terrace outside our door that looked over the garden. The room couldn't be faulted, a very comfortable bed, lots of space and the bathroom was well equiped and spacious. Everything was clean and well maintained and the rainhead shower was strong and refreshing. We didn't see many staff, but the ones we did see were polite and helpful. There was a lot of choice at breakfast and I had the full vegetarian option - excellent scrambld eggs in particular. Overnight, strings of lights lit the garden and it was lovely to sit on the chairs they provided on our little terrace. We've reason to visit the area regularly now and we will try to stay there again.

Easy parking close to hotel . Room very fresh and clean . Tea making facilities good although not enough milk for more than 2 cups but more available on asking . Breakfast lovely with lots of choice and food very good overall . Very good quality and value . Would stay again .

The room was a bit tired and the bathroom had a toilet leak didn’t complain as only stayed one night! Did mention it the next morning. Saying that the bed was comfortable and the room clean and a decent size. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. The heritage building and grounds were amazing and the overall price was good value.
