The room had long strands of jet black hair all over the bathroom. I’m bald so it wasn’t mine. There were silverfish in the room likely because of the cut open screens on the windows. The room was musty smelling and dim. The bathroom fixtures were ill working and pointed so the water jetted immediately into the middle of the bathroom. The air conditioner sounded like a jet engine when it came on, which was every 5 minutes. The walls were paper thin, we kept thinking people were entering our room when it was a room down e hall it was that clear. The bathrooms in all adjacent rooms could clearly be heard. Every detail. The golf course was mostly u available because of a large wedding that took over the entire resort making the use of amenities impossible. The parking lot was over full, and the wedding goers were parting and it was extremely loud. Our unsatisfactory room was brought to the managers attention and she didn’t care too much about our disappointment. She instead claimed it was because we booked with Expedia rather than the hotel. I guess they give awful rooms to those who book through 3rd party sites? Perhaps if you are lucky enough to request and get a room in the main historic building and are there when it isn’t dominated by a bunch of drunk kids, it might be a 3.5 star. Sorry… not a good experience and no effort made to make it one.

St. Eugene’s was an exceptionally beautiful property. The history of the building and lands was beautifully displayed. We were fortunate to stay in the old hotel and absolutely enjoyed it. We dined at all three restaurants and were very happy with each experience. We highly recommend staying at St. Eugene’s.

Front staff was not very friendly, they seem to add an amenity charge of $16 after you leave site and don’t refund the deposit right away, still waiting. Rooms are very thinned wall.

Our room was 80 degrees. We couldn't figure out the thermostat and two different staff took over a half hour to figure it out while my wife was in bed exhausted from travelling. Also one reason we chose to stay here was the restaurant (Numa) but it was closed which was not clear in the booking information. Not open Monday or Tuesday.

Great stay overall! Check in staff were not very friendly the first day, he must have been having a bad day. Other staff in the halls and cleaning etc. were not as courteous as might be expected at a resort. Though noticeable,, this didn't take away from the wonderful stay. All of the restaurants had very friendly staff and great service! Great pool and garden areas. Excellent venue for large event. Excellent food!

The television in our room did not work and the people at the front desk were unable to help. They also said that there was nobody from the maintenance department working. To rectify the problem, they switched us to another, smaller room. It was clean and comfortable. Initially there was a LOT of hallway noise, with boisterous people yelling down the corridor until nearly midnight. After that, it quieted down.

This was a memorable stay. The historic significance was really informative and so compelling. Happy that our money spent is going to the communities that have been impacted. The grounds were stunning! Beautiful gardens and well kept. We enjoyed the gym, golf course, casino and comfy bed. Huge rooms and really nice staff sealed the deal. Numa restaurant was farm to table deliciousness as well!

Need to increase awareness of the 19th Hole lounge option - especially in Mon/Tue when hotel lounge/restaurant closed.

The beds were extremely uncomfortable, lumpy and felt over used. The rooms are old of course, but there is no vent system in the bathrooms and the room was hot. The elevators went down for most of a day which made bringing stuff up and down for a wedding really difficult. It’s a decent hotel and the area is absolutely beautiful but it’s not worth $250 a night.

Inadequate close parking for hotel guests. No orientation for site amenities (pool, restaurants) at check in. Misinformed about restaurant openings. No housekeeping for 2 day stay, even after asking twice to have done. Rooms are needing renovations.
