The staff working there could not be more helpful with anything you needed. The breakfast were good, buffet style with an omelette making station. The location was as described in the heart of the Medina, the Taxi drop off point is approximately a six minute walk to the hotel (Riad), you are met at the Taxi drop off with a representative who helps you with your cases. It all works well. Our only gripe and recommendation is that you DO NOT stay in our room number 1, (named Habib). As it fronts directly into the atrium where you have your breakfast and dinner, for one of a better expression, the hotel reception area. Very noisy in the morning and evening till about 10pm ish.We spotted some lovely rooms there and maybe should've asked to change. But we didn't. Our loss. But the staff and managers were excellent and helpful.

Excellent customer service and lovely family friendly rooms! We stayed as a family or five and had enough space in the family room to move around. The only downside was the poor ventilation in the rooms however I appreciate that this is a very old building. Regardless, this day exceeded my expectations and I will definitely stay again.

Everything was exceptional! Staff were amazing and for celiacs, they have a full gluten free breakfast with Schaefer products (bread, crackers, digestives, rice cakes!). You can’t miss with this excellent Riad!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Riad Karmela. The staff, including Fatima Ezzarha, both our drivers, everyone working at breakfast and generally around the hotel were so kind and hospitable. They went out of their way to make sure we had a comfortable stay and support with delayed baggage and our very curious young son. Fatima Ezzarha, who had her hands full multi-tasking the entire time we were there, was so calm and helpful - she made us feel like we were the only and most important guests in the hotel. We've stayed at many riads in Marrakech and the breakfast is stunning and absolutely unrivaled. We will definitely be back!

I booked a family room at Riad Karmela and they sent me to riad Karmela princess instead which is their sister property across the alleyway. They didn’t explain why and it was out last day in Marrakesh so we didn’t have time to deal with it and accepted the room. The room was spacious and clean but it had a horrible sewer smell coming from the bathroom. Breakfast buffet was surprisingly really good. Besides the horrible smell at the room the main issue with this property was its location. At night we had a really hard time going back to the riad because 4 of the main gates at the Medina were closed. We have stayed at a different part of the Medina and never had this issue. This part of the Medina felt a little more empty and unsafe. When we were trying to go back to our hotel after running into so many closed gates we ended up falling for one of the scams of a “friendly local” showing you the way back. He did show us the way but became aggressive and started yelling demanding money. Glad we only stayed in this area for one night.

Excellent staff and service. We reached around midnight after a long drive through a storm. After check in, staff offered refreshing tea and dinner and did not charge us. The staff provided fresh fruits, dates and nuts and several water bottles daily. Breakfast was good but same every day.

Riad Karmela – A place that truly looks after you I stayed at Riad Karmela during my time in Marrakech and couldn’t have chosen a better base. From arrival to departure, I felt genuinely cared for — not as a booking, but as a person. The staff are exceptional: warm, attentive, and quietly present without ever being intrusive. I travelled solo and felt safe, relaxed, and supported at all times. A special mention must go to Fatima, the manager. She is outstanding. She upgraded my room without me asking, regularly checked in on me, offered coffee with genuine kindness, and made sure every detail of my stay ran smoothly. Her professionalism and warmth set the tone for the entire riad. Airport transfers were seamless, and both the driver and the young staff member who assisted me were respectful, reliable, and caring. It says a lot about a place when every member of the team carries themselves with pride. The riad itself is beautiful, peaceful, and perfectly located. After the energy of the Medina, returning here felt like exhaling. Riad Karmela isn’t just somewhere you stay — it’s somewhere you’re looked after. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Marrakech, especially solo travellers. I will definitely return.

Riad Karmela was an excellent choice for our Marrakech stay. Right in the centre of the medina so an easy walk to all the main souks and sights. Our room was clean, breakfast was tasty and all the staff were super helpful - would stay here again if we are ever back in Marrakech.

Staff were very kind and settling after the craziness of the markets. Room was comfortable and clean. Dinner was a little over-priced but quite good. We had an early morning departure and they did their best to make sure we had some breakfast before we left.

A peaceful oasis in the middle of the chaos that is Marrakesh. Cannot praise the staff enough, always polite and helpful, couldn’t do enough to ensure a good stay.

Reataurant in hotel only place easy enough to get to especially at night (going out, since no tuk tuks or taxis could come in all the way), and food average. I think the complication getting taxis is enough to not stay there again. Room looks authentic which i wanted, but felt a little worn and didnt feel the cleanest (hair in bathroom and rug?). Bed nice. Door has huge opening so all talking and noise is right there and kept me up. But door looked cool and authentic, which was good at least. Air con had hard time keeping cool with summer heat. Staff were nice and helpful. Overall good experience. Sometimes walking back to place alone i was harassed and that wasnt nice. Maybe normal i dont know. Maybe same in all areas. Close to market and shopping. Massage was good.

The Riad Karmela property immerses you in the enchanting atmosphere of old Morocco. However, I found its location to be somewhat inconvenient. It is situated in the heart of the Medina market, which can be overwhelming when trying to find transportation, as no cars can enter the area. The service and the hotel workers at the Riad were outstanding.

The staff were very hospitable and welcoming. The location was very convenient - walkable to most hot spots. Could’ve done with cleaner rooms, especially the bathroom inc towels, otherwise all good.

From the moment we arrived, the staff was so hospitable and lovely. Everyone was kind, helpful and competent. We had an issue with ants or some tiny bugs in our bathroom (also almost 40° C weather) and they made sure to take care of it and make sure we were comfortable. It is a beautiful, centrally located, very Instagram worthy Riad.
