I loved the hotel. The architecture, the decor, the tranquility. My room was very comfortable and spacious, despite being single. The staff is very friendly. Delicious breakfast. Excellent location. I hope to return some day. Thank you!

The hotel has a parking lot (for a small fee); the staff were friendly and helpful; and the walk to town is a ten minute straight shot.

Good value, convenient and quiet. Lovely old property in delightful area, and within walking distance of the centre

Ideal location and friendly staff. Unfortunately couldn't get access to the EV charging point as another vehicle (non EV) was parked in the space for the nights I was there. Breakfast only served from 8am so couldn't make use of that. No good served of an evening despite advertising a 'restaurant & bar'. No shower gel or shampoo provided in the room. Not as advertised.

the property was quite dated in areas. They also charge £10 per day for parking in their private car park! Breakfast was cold

Perfect location for walking into the city or to the railway station (no more than 10-15mins). Stayed in the delux double bedroom in the annex. Confused as room didn’t match the images on their website. Duty manager informed and he agreed and apologised. For a delux room would have expected more luxuries, the only benefit seemed to be size of room and en-suite. Breakfast options ok, but as for advertising continental options, only saw yoghurt

The whole experience of coming to York and staying at the B and B from start to finish was excellent nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the food was vey good. It was good to have a vegan cooked breakfast on the menu for my friend as we always seem to struggle when we stay in places. Would certainly come back and stay if we go to York again..

Nothing terribly unique. But it was withing decent walking distance of York city center and all the attractions, shopping, and food that goes with that. The breakfast was also incredible. Really excellent. The neighborhood was very quiet and felt quite upscale.

A surprisingly large large hotel renovated from a lovely Edwardian (or maybe Victorian) redbrick house. The room was cozy enough, though perhaps a new mattress would be a sound investment. I was in an economy single room. It was suitable for work I was doing, as well as walkable to the city centre. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the breakfasts were delicious and satisfying.

It is near to city centre in a quiet road. Large Victorian/Edwardian house. However the bedrooms are incredibly small, and dividing walls are not soundproof. I am a size 16 and 5'6" tall but cd barely fit into the shower. I didnt bother. Good fryup for breakfast but no fruit offered, no meusli, no plain yoghurt

Lovely hotel. Staff were fantastic, very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast amazing. Would definitely stay again. However I would request a room on a lower floor next time. We were in room 18 which was small, but adequate and on the 2nd floor. My fault that I failed to mention mobility difficulties at the time of booking, so bare in mind if you have similar problems. Looking forward to our next visit.
