An absolutely beautiful hotel with a lovely breakfast and excellent staff in a perfect location to both see Syracuse and Ortigia

Good hotel. No complaints. Very conveniently located. Bathroom had a slight smell of mildew. Would stay there again. Very easy to access the city by foot from there and staff was nice.

Breakfast menu fine. The air conditions was great. The front desk staff was uninterested and not interested in welcoming anyone.

Great location, easy walk to all the sights in Siracusa and Ortigia. Spacious room with a Balcony overlooking the main street. Reception and Breakfast staff helpful and friendly.

All of the staff were wonderful - kind, helpful and welcoming from the moment we arrived. A special mention must go to the glamorous young woman on reception with the most incredible eyeliner. She was so friendly and approachable, and her English was fantastic (certainly far better than my very basic, poorly spoken Italian 😅). Sadly, I didn't catch her name, but I hope she recognises herself. When we arrived, she kindly checked with another member of staff to see if our rooms were ready, luckily we were able to check in early. She then showed us our location on a local area map and gave us excellent recommendations on where to eat, drink, and visit, along with helpful tips on how to get around. On our last evening she was more than happy to arrange a taxi to the airport for us the following morning, which was greatly appreciated. The rooms were very clean and spacious, with fully working air conditioning. One of the rooms also had a small balcony, which was a lovely added touch. ( The road can be a little loud if you have the window open but we wore earplugs at night so no problem for us). The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options, including pastries, fruit and yoghurt, cereal, bacon and eggs, olives, cheeses, sun-dried tomatoes, and more - plenty of choice for me as a vegetarian. We would highly recommend the Grande Albergo Alfeo and would happily stay here again. Thanks again from Leanne, Freya & Louise.

A lovely grand hotel with smart, super friendly staff, excellent daily room servicing and a really nice buffet breakfast. Really good value for money with a luxury experience. Great location too with loads of places on your doorstep.

I would not agree with the 4 star rating. This hotel is centrally located just outside Ortiga old town, the breakfast was good and the rooms were spacious but that is where the positives end. The hotel is tired with peeling paint in places throughout. The patio area in front of the main doors is now used to store garbage and recycling. There is no bar or restaurant despite what the website states. The experience was like a B&B. The central open-air patio has plastic furniture but without any cushions so you cannot comfortably relax anywhere but your room. I tried sitting there but it seems to be used just as a smoking location for visitors. The rooms appear to have central aircon but we were told it was not operational so the room temp was +25c by mid afternoon making sleeping very difficult. Due to the location right on the main road it is too noisy to open the windows. Very disappointing experience and would not stay again.

Great location very walkable. Staff was pleasant and breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Stay here again.

The hotel is very central in the main town of Siracusa. Plenty of good restaurants on the doorstep and only ten minute walk from the station. Ortigia only a 15 minute walk away. The bathroom facilities and room decor are slightly old fashioned but all working fine.

Overall, the experience was great. Friendly staff, clean rooms, great breakfast and a central location with easy access to all the main sites. Parking is not available on site however there is a public lot within a five minute walk.

Charming Sicilian Hotel within walking distance to bustling Ortiga. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Friendly staff and delicious daily breakfast with made to order cafe. Bonus- complimentary granita provided to hotel guests daily in the lobby. A/C is a welcome respite to escape the hot summer temps.

Located on a busy route with cars and motorcycles revving all night. No A/C so window had to be open. Mosquito bites, poor sleep, modest breakfast. Desk staff were meh, and maintenance person was not much use. Breakfast crew were attentive.

Good proximity to Ortigia.

One more point of disappointment was the water tap pouring out salty water. We have to use bottled water for brushing teeth!

Well staff are excellent so is lobby and breakfast I had a roof on third floor with no window but a door with metal stairs leading up to a porthole or something like balcony ! It started vibrating In wind at night and water started flooding the room floor ! I had a terrible night as it rained and blew all night ! I love the staff at reception and the dining area but why this room is even in use only hotel knows it’s disgraceful and disgusting for a four star hotel ! But from previous experiences I know hotels com won’t do anything about it ! What a shame as hotel com used to be efficient once
