Great art glass experience, provided you are forgiving of small details like missing ceramic tiles in the spa. I am usually a nitpicker but the value of access to real art, that you get to live, outweighs the small imperfections. One of a kind experience.

The hotel was nice from what we saw, we did go there only for spa and we were very disappointed, too small spa, full of people, had to wait in line to use any sauna or the chairs. Nowhere to sit around the pool so we had to stand up and drink . Disappointed.

Not worth the money. We are a family of 6, booked a night here for 7000SEK. During the booking process you’re supposed to choose when you want to visit the SPA. I booked between 20-22. When we arrived no one told us that they are now closing the SPA at 21. So by the time we managed to put the kids to sleep, the SPA was closed. We got a “compensation” of less than 800SEK for a completely ruined experience (because that’s how much the SPA actually costs for 3 adults according to them). The breakfast is eatable, but just standard Swedish hotel breakfast. The orange juicer is old, so old that only very strong men can use it. The fresh waffles that they used to have is gone. There’s nothing otherwise special about this breakfast. When we got to the SPA in the morning with our kids we noticed that the sauna was never getting warmer than 60C. Also the sauna itself is very worn out, some parts of the wood are lying loose, so it’s easy to fall right onto the sauna heater. The guy in the bar first didn’t want to sell us green smoothies as he said they didn’t taste well..(?) As we packed our bags we found a snus package and a sock under the bed. This experience did not cost this money, so we will never come back again. Sad, because 4 years ago we were here and everything felt way more proper. The sauna was warm and breakfast felt luxurious. Now they are just trying to save the money on every little thing.

If you like art glass and design, it might be worth to visit this expensive and elevated art gallery, but do not expect the same luxurious treatment as you usually get at four star hotels. Here are some examples: The Glass Bar In the "luxurious" designer glass bar, there are open electrical cables with duct tape going over the floor to the tables. (See the attached picture). Also visible radiators that completely takes you ouf of the "under water" experience. This is supposed to be a high end design-bar, hide your cables and radiators. Also, the service at the glass bar is very slow. I think maybe the servers are from an exchange program or something? Since very few of them speaks Swedish. Which is not a problem per say, but a high end bar you'd expect well trained staff. (And it is a big no no to make a Negroni with Aperol instead of Campari). BIG ISSUE: The "vegan" burger on the menu in the glass bar was filled with Halloumi. This is potentially a big problem, hopefully just a typo in the menu. But you really need to fix this. The Rooms No shoehorn in the room? This is crazy. There are glass sculptures for sale in the rooms as well, the one in our bathroom had some damage, which is sad to see. General areas & staff We stayed here for three nights, and the elevator was out of order for the whole stay. Crazy. The staff are somewhat invisible, the reception was almost always empty, and the same is true for the bar in the spa area. Are the staff unhappy, do they get paid enough? They dont seem to happy to work here.. Maybe the whole Hotel is understaffed? The Spa All the pools in the spa area are quite nice, both outdoors and indoors. But I dont know about the rest of the spa, since we never got any information about what was available, no information about any treatments or what the spa had to offer. I think this information should be given to you, especially when they know it is your first time staying here. Finished plates with left over food and empty glasses stayed on the tables in the pool area for a long time. This is not up to four star standard. Staff, hello? Will I visit Kosta again? Probably. But I will most likely stay at the Lodge or some nearby B&B, and watch from afar as the stars dwindle down. This is a two star hotel at most.

It's a very nice hotel, with very nice art pieces spread around the facilities. The spa was great, super relaxing. The food was amazing as well as the service. Close to the hotel was quite a few outlets with very good prices. You get a lot for the money here.
