In short: The room facilities were not functional at all. The toilet and shower were not draining. The hotel’s solution was to take no action or change the room. To be honest, they said it was fully booked — but that doesn’t make their problem mine. The only reason I chose this hotel was its location and the fact that it’s a classic.
My review:
We arrived at check-in, dropped our luggage, and went out for dinner after a six-hour drive from the Netherlands.
When we returned to our room, the toilet didn’t drain. We spoke to the reception to fix it or change the room. The staff member on duty that night tried to clear it himself, which only made it lock while not in use — it would only flush water. If you used the toilet for its actual purpose, it would not flush.
Then we moved to the shower to refresh, and again it wasn’t draining. I went back to the night shift team, and the only response I got was “okay” — with absolutely zero effort to fix anything.
The next morning around 9:30–10:00, I asked for the manager. She wasn’t there yet, so I gave the keys back to the reception and kindly asked them to find a solution. When I escalated through Expedia, they said they had spoken to the manager, who confirmed “everything works as it should.” When I returned in the evening, nothing was fixed, and no notes were left for th
