Unique building. Very friendly staff.

A beautiful hotel in a convenient location just inside Mdina walls, the Xara Palace has the highest quality you would expect at a Relais et Châteaux property. The staff is superb and everyone went out of their way to make sure all of our needs were fulfilled. Not to be missed is dinner at the hotel’s de Mondian restaurant!

This was my first stay in a palace and it was fantastic. My room was palatial and very nicely decorated. What can you say about 20 foot ceilings…bed and bedding was super comfortable and the bathroom was very beautiful and perfectly functional. Shower was great. The circular stairs kept me physically active. 2 great sofas and only one of me. The staff was professional and kind, and Sara was ready to assist with any question or need. It was a nice comfortable luxurious stay in a fantastic palace hotel

Fabulous hotel with most beautiful decor and general vibe in a wonderful historic location. The lounge area of our suite was one of the loveliest we have ever experienced with the perfect combination of luxury, comfort and space. Staff were very helpful and attentive. Truly a 5-star experience

From our arrival to our departure we were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble for the Xara team. Very comfortable and very relaxing - very nice people.

This first class hotel embedded inside the city walls of Mdina made us feel like nobility both from a historical aspect and by the level of service we received. Truly one of a kind!

The property is lovely, it is a beautiful old building with high ceilings and lots of character. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There were two main areas that have impacted our rating of the hotel. The first is the arrangements for using the pool at the owners other venue, Xara Lodge. The pool is not always available as the venue is used for events such as weddings and therefore was closed on two full days and closed early on another two days during our stay and we also had to request to be driven to and from the pool which felt a bit uncomfortable. Therefore I would suggest this is not the hotel for you if you like to have access to a pool. We also found the breakfast arrangements chaotic and frustrating. There are the options of a continental breakfast or cooked breakfast, and all food has to be ordered through table service. We found staff often got our order wrong or that we had to be very specific about the exact items we wanted or we were served toast without butter etc and there were inconsistencies day to day in how things worked. Also the cooked breakfast menu charges per item but there were no prices for the drinks and this turned out to be very expensive for what we were served.

Incredible hotel within Mdina with a lot of history. The staff are very attentive and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. The room had a beautiful Terrance with a hot tub. Thank you Tommy!

Excellent hotel with very professional and attentive staff.

The bathroom was on the ground floor and bedroom up a lot of stairs. This was not mentioned in the description when I booked. I had to pay extra 170 Euro per night to have the both on one floor. Cannot recommend this hotel to anyone for this inconvenience. I have an issue with going up and down stairs so this was a problem for me as I go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Otherwise, great hotel, friendly and informative staff.

Everything you would expect from a 5* hotel! Amazing views over Malta and the staff were fantastic. We will be back.
