It was awesome

Absolutely loved it! Beautiful location within walking distance of the main hub and onsite dining was delicious. Birdwatching and wildlife tours arranged by hotel were also top-notch. Highly recommend and would return in a heartbeat.

The balcony room was beautiful and the hotel restaurant is wonderful. We particular enjoyed breakfast and happy hour. It was very peaceful in the hotel. The only point for improvement would be the cleanliness of the pool - it wasn’t very appealing for swimming.

Absolutely the best place to stay at in Monteverde!!

Room very clean. Staff amazingly friendly - especially the waitstaff and bartenders! They gave us great local suggestions for sunset spots etc. Beautiful grounds. Our room was on first level so we did not have a view but there was a cute balcony with a stream running past.

Really great stay at Monteverde Lodge. The staff was friendly and courteous and went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our stay. It is a wilderness hotel with eco friendly policies and forest trails directly on the property. Breakfast was included and came with an excellent fresh fruit plate, toast and a freshly made marmalade.

Great people, great food, great hotel

Overall excellent experience. Food was surprisingly delicious. Close to town and activities. Adorable coatis!

Very friendly and attentive staff. Entire atmosphere is relaxing and pleasant, not TVs or loud music. The Vivarium is a treasure with falling water.

We were going back and forth between a few different properties and we are so glad we ended up going with this one!!! The staff was amazing and attentive (especially Hamid and Kevin), the staff went above and beyond to make our stay as easy and comfortable as possible, the bedding was great, and the grounds made you feel like you were on a retreat. We loved the intimate feel and getting to know the staff. We were sad to leave but look forward to the opportunity to return!

Amazing stay at this hotel. The staff was amazing and always smiling and ready to help. I can’t say enough about the food - I’m gluten free and this was not a problem. There were many wonderful delicious options!

The room was always spotless. We would leave for an hour or two and always come back to a clean room and fresh towels. And the staff was amazing. Mike and Oscar, Jessica, Kevin, Ronald, And the staff that handled all the booking were like family to me and my girlfriend by the time we left. A big Thanks to Mike and Jessica and Oscars wife for making my girlfriends birthday so special. We will come to back every year because we loved everyone there so much. I can't say enough good things about the beautiful place and the grounds, Or the staff. All of it was just amazing including the food. Just outstanding!!

beautifully situated in Santa Elena. Entrance is in a busy area but the property is tucked into a dreamy rainforest with trails and beautiful outdoor features. Simple, elegant, meticulously maintained. Everyone was so gracious and welcoming! We LOVED our stay!

Clean and good hotel. Nice ala-carte breakfast. Comfortable stay for the price point.

This hotel has a very classy look, beautiful architecture, extremely comfortable bed and sheets. The exterior gardens are walking trails are incredibly beautiful, providing a tranquil setting. However, they had a real problem with bugs. We found numerous cockroaches in our room, had to switch to an upper level room, which had far less bug issues, but they leave the back door to the garden wide open at night so many bugs fly or crawl in and by morning the lobby floor had bugs of all sorts all over it.

Loud dripping noises inside the wall every time the water was turned on. Inexplicable and loud tapping noises outside front door every time we tried to sleep. Screaming children running up and down the hallways and crying babies all hours of the night. Very thin doors…no thought given to soundproofing rooms
