Breakfasts was lovely, definitely a spooky feeling in room 29. Highly recommended

Friendly staff, always welcoming. Just love the uniqueness of the Red Lion. Walking distance to the town centre and parking available if booked early enough.

Room was too small.staff were courteous,friendly,and helpful.

Room lovely and spotless. Staff brilliant. Breakfast wonderful and fresh, best fried eggs i have had in a long time.

The hotel was everything I wanted it to be except the shower unit. I am 6 foot 4 inches, my head was touching the shower head. Width wise only about 4 inches room to move! Disappointed that no evening meal was available but not a problem as the hotel is in the middle of the city.

Excellent all round, polite staff, v clean and good breakfast.

Very nice traditional decor, good breakfast selection, great location and good value for money. Few cobwebs and slight issues with the plumbing but this is to be expected of such an old building!

Our room was disappointing , we go to red lion yearly for Christmas . Side lamp did not work , bathroom tired , room felt univiting as was big but badly decorated with furnishings , tv too small and too far away from bed ,room was right next to a lift , which as noisy , not my best stay

We didnt have breakfast, toom 32 smelt damp. The fan in the bathroom didnt work so this may be a contribution. Thus is the 3rd time staying with you in 2025. I must say that the lady that sat in the are chair for which seemed like 5 minutes before getting up to ask if we were checking in could have been more professional.

Room was lovely, staff were polite, friendly and efficient, bought lunch on arrival which was very tasty and good value for money, looking forward to staying again

Nice and friendly staff and breakfast was ok, but the room was so noisy (front of hotel), so neither of us slept much. Shame as the hotel is full of history and a lovely building. Would stay again but next time will ask for a room away from the road.
