We got two twin beds after we requested them to make it up that way after we got there even though I requested it ahead of time. Everything was fine and the buffet breakfast was exceptionally! It was this large as a cruise ship Buffet. I would definitely stay here again

Everything was amazing… the place is beautiful..

We had booked this hotel with one of the options for an elevator. Upon arrival we found out we had to go up 2 flights of stairs then get an elevator that too with out someone helping us with our bags. I have a knee issue and informed the hotel staff but I guess they don’t care. No apology either. Same thing when we checked out. No help with our bags. Will not recommend this hotel. :(

Breakfast was great and stay

I noticed that this is 3* and 4*. I have a very small room and fine for 1 night.

Nice hotel with amazing breakfast buffet. But on the II side, you have to negotiate 3 sets of stairs which is a challenge with luggage. Also, no fan in the bathroom so it fogged up a lot

The hotel is located in a handy position for getting about to different restaurants. The facilities at the hotel are excellent, the wellness area with the sauna with the most incredible view - not to be missed. Great breakfast buffet with lots of choice and catering to all sorts of dietary requirements. My only negatives…our room was rather small and felt in need of renovation. It was comfortable but the carpet was a bit tatty and had marks on it. Perhaps there are plan to improve this part of the hotel. Also not ideal having loud, live music that went on until midnight. Sleeping was troublesome during that those evenings! The pool bar closed at 5 which we felt was a little early given how many people were still around the pool area. A great place to visit and despite a few niggles, we would return. Perhaps to a different room!

This hotel definitely needs an overhaul. The carpets were dirty and threadbare and the decor totally dated. The staff at the front desk were cold. The only saving Grace was the breakfast buffet - it was best I’ve ever experienced.

After the initial issue with the air con in our family room was resolved we had a lovely stay. The staff and in particular the manager were very nice.

Honesty. I was accidentally overcharged, and later in the day when they caught the error it was immediately fixed. I would have never known, if not for their honesty.

Beautiful sea view and excellent service provided by the staff. Maybe the size of the room could have been bigger.

Firstly, credit where it's due- the photographer for this hotel deserves an award. This is two hotels joined together, one of which (grand hotel I) they have started to refurbish. Unsurprisingly, all the photos are from the refurbished parts, grand hotel II looks like if you walked into a best western that hadn't been updated in 40 years. When I asked the receptionist if we could move as the room was nothing like the photos, she was sympathetic (they get it a lot) but none of the 'newer' rooms have balconies and not many have sea views. They would do nothing towards a refund or gesture (the photos are so fake that there is one making the pool look as though it is directly in front of the hotel, where a pool normally is, rather than the reality of crossing a car park and road), and hotels.com did virtually nothing to help - yet they're willing to take their cut, of course. Don't expect to use the pool, people queue to put their towels down at 8.30am or whenever it opens, and then leave the loungers largely unoccupied. The area of Opatija is nice, but this hotel is nothing short of horrendous.

Our room badly need makeover, outdated furniture and mold in bathroom, we book three bed in a room, looking new on the photos, and we got two room instead. Receptionist told us there’s no out room available so she decide to give us those two rotten rooms. Parking is 100kn/day. Spa is the worst, rust and electric cables around...

I have mixed feelings about this hotel. It is a historical hotel that also can accommodate conferences. The room was fine except that the desk and chair do not fit in the space allotted !? Small room does not equate to a 4 star hotel. This is a 3 star hotel. Pluses are a buffet breakfast and dinner is available. e outdoor pool is great if you get there before others do so good luck. Paid Parking?

Great location, fantastic pools. Good beach. Very good food.
