Walk out of our bungalow (#15) straight onto the beach, bungalow was updated, fresh, staff were lovely. Caravans, camping and nice Bungalows. 100m walk to Ellis Beach pub which has amazing food (check opening hours in off tourist season, 6pm close some weekdays), but amazing lunches, brekkys and dinners on the weekend.

Booked a single cabin and talk about beachfront it was 2 steps and onto beach. Little bit of traffic noise due to highway outside but shut cabin up and was good. Swim off the beach or fish or just sit back and catch the sun. Book in was easy and reception was so nice and knew the area well… Thank you

Gorgeous, gorgeous location. Almost impossible to beat. It's a beach bungalo, but we were pleased with the accomodations. Bunk beds a little small and many of the washer/dryers were out of order. All our interactions with staff were great. We really enjoyed our stay and you will too.

Listening to the waves was very therapeutic with my cabin being right on the beach.

Extremely deceptive marketing. We booked an ocean view cabin. They are a garden room. Staff were lovely and room was great but our experience was soured when all we could see was the back of other cabins and cars. It was like a greasy used car salesman had written the add. Staff said it was Wotif which I agree the photos on Wotif are the most deceptive but just change the description to garden room and price accordingly and you will have happy clients. I did give them an opportunity to deal with this but have received no communication at all.

Great, relaxing stay. 5 mins from Palm Cove and just across the road for a coffee, afternoon drink or meals. We really enjoyed it.

Terrific spot, literally just about on the beach! Short drive to Palm Cove. Only down side is it quite close to the road and there can be a bit a traffic noise

The cabins arent the greatest. Yes they were pretty clean (its hard to keep something so close to the ocean clean), but big old noisy aircons, and some lights didnt work, and the floor lino was quite cracked in places, and sometimes you would step on a part of floor that seemed unstable and you would sink a bit, and the water was quite brown, so we bought cartons of water to drink. Unfortunately we had 2 days of rain on arrival so we spent quite a bit of time inside and on the balcony, but for the days of sunshine it was beautiful so close to the beach and outside was always neat and tidy. If you mainly spend time on the beach or in the pool or exploring, its a great quiet little spot, and so we were able to get over the little issues inside. If you are just staying in the area one night and passing through, its probably not worth the cost, as its pretty comparable to a hotel in palm cove, but if you want a few days of beach time, it is really lovely. Unfortunately the bar and grill restaurant across the road (the only food venue IN Ellis Beach) is currently shut for dinner, and closing completely on the 8th January for a month at least, so food either needs to be cooked by yourself, or head to palm cove up the road.

The location was amazing, but not worth it for the bed bugs, disgusting smells and overpriced accommodation.   When we arrived and opened the door it smelled like a combination of someone's sweaty armpits, toilet waste and cigarette butts.  The built-in kitchen facility was ok to use, but it felt really rude that they threatened to charge an additional $50 fee if you didn't wash, dry and put away your dishes.   The worst thing though was being woken by my 9 year old son in the middle of the night upset and complaining of itchiness - all over his body.    We'd managed to avoid getting bitten by mosquitos and other biting insects on the rest of our 10 day Northern Queensland trip - but on this last night, which was supposed to be our beautiful, peaceful farewell and close to our holiday ... my son got bitten very badly by bed bugs covering every part of his body with itchy bites.   We felt awful and had all of us sleeping restlessly for the rest of the night crammed in the only clean bed in the cabin.   I never leave bad reviews, but the discomfort and potential health issues of bed bug bites for my son made me cross enough to let you all know, this is not a place I would ever recommend or stay at again - and the price....!  We stayed at a 5 star hotel in Cairns cheaper ...!   If we'd have known, we would have gone back to Cairns and stayed somewhere much cleaner, less stinky and less gross.   Would not recommend this place.  At all.

Older property but well maintained and clean. Awesome location and the only place in cairns/port Douglas area your bungalow is literally on the beach.
