Breakfast started too late. Presumably there are quite a few guests who need to be on the road by 8.30. So I got no breakfast as I needed to be away by 7.30.

Room was very good but food was poor. Most of the staff seemed to be under 20 and called customers ‘mate’ . Definitely seemed to lack some experienced personel. I stayed here before and it was really good and has definitely gone downhill.

All good - Hotels.com need to relist the economy rooms without breakfast. We bought our breakfast which was very good. Staff friendly and willing to asdist when beeded. Lovely pub and friendly village.

A very country inn at the centre of the small town. The room was quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was fr eshly cooked and tasty

Great hotel with fabulous food. Only let down was the waiting staff who needed a bit of training. They didn’t tell us that 3 out of the 8 starters and 1 main course were unavailable until we tried unsuccessfully to order them. She also plonked the wine on the table but had forgotten to uncork it!! However the staff were all very lovely. We were in room nine and they was a really annoying noise in the plumbing system that went off every 90 seconds throughout the whole stay.

nice quiet place with friendly stagf

This property was so disappointing. Staff were very good and tried to make good a very bad situation. No food deliveries, so an appalling selection of food available for dinner. Whilst the building is fitted out well it is extremely poorly managed. It is rudderless!! The poor staff work hard and try. I could go on and on. I had booked two nights we left after one. I would most certainly not recommend to anyone. I would be surprised if it’s still in business in twelve months. Please take this constructive criticism on board otherwise other people will be so disappointed as well.

Beautiful pub. Lovely room. Nice and quiet. The lady who cooked our breakfast and served us was so friendly (Julie I think) what a lovely friendly lady. Would stay again.

Staff and very helpful and friendly, food in the restaurant was excellent and good price. Good selection of beers in the bar. Free Parking behind the hotel. Perfekt place if you are staying as us on a visit to RHS Rosemoor. We will definitely stay again when visiting. Cannot speak more highly of the staff and hotel.

Great bedroom

Really nice room in a lovely coaching inn. Quality bedding , towels etc. comfy bed. Booked & prepaid thru Hotels.com and when we arrived we were a little taken aback to be charged an extra £20 for our little dog. It would have been nice to have known about this extra fee beforehand as it came as a bit of a shock , I didn’t get any reply from accommodation following my messaging them & also leaving a telephone message to say we’re bringing our dog. Other than that , a good stay.

OMG - what a find. This place is beautiful with a very interesting history. Staff were lovely from the adorable girl who checked us in through to the lovely lady who checked us out. Facilities great, spotless and a lovely breakfast. Location is wonderful too. We will def be back

The hotel is great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were beautifully appointed. The location is ideal for exploring that area of Devon, not far from the coast, Dartmoor and some fantastic market towns.

Unsafe - the staff do not stay in the Inn or even near to the premises over night. The night we stayed we and other guests (who discussed the next day at breakfast) experienced a sleepless night due to a frightening and horrible ordeal. The Staff member we all raised to at breakfast was genuinely sincere and apologetic. She rang the Manager to notify immediately after hearing our accounts. When checking out, I asked us if us emailing an account of what happened be of use to the Manager? The staff member replied it would help greatly in them tracking down the perpetrator as to whether it was a guest or neighbours. We were also told the Manager will be in touch with us. I happily provided an email account of events once home. I have not heard anything from the Manager of the George Inn (its 10 days now) at all.
