We arrived at the Grand ,the check in went smoothly and the staff was very pleasant and helpful. Our room was very clean , and had a sea view. We didn't use the pool but it looked very inviting. We had breakfast and a evening meal which was absolutely delicious, could not fault anything . The location was great with beautiful views of the bay . We will definitely stay here again , we highly recommend The Grand Hotel .

It's getting old now, no air con in the rooms, ageing decor but a great location, comfortable bed and fantastic outdoor pool. It's just all a bit weird. Nobody in the bar area has any idea what they are doing, ordering drinks was a lottery worth no logical system, food was paid for then after waiting for nearly an hour I went to check on it and they forgot to put it through. Then had to chase both courses, it was over 2 hours from ordering before I gave up on the pudding and asked for a refund. Views are nice. Good location. Great pools. Let down by staff.

Great breakfast and lovely heated outdoor swimming pool

Room are a decent size however no air conditioning in the hotel making room very warm in summer.The room we had also had a towel rail in the bathroom which they could not turn off which made the room very uncomfortable.The dining rooms also very warm without a/c and needs some supervision at breakfast time,did not have dinner there as being to warm .

Didn't reserve parking space as agreed. Very poor mattress which was changed but still slopy. Poor peeling wallpaper, in our room.and in main areas. No parasols besides pool area. Poor outside, neglected needs a good clean and revamp. Roast dinner on Sunday was perfect along with Happy hour!!

Hotel and staff lovely. Some parts of the hotel are tired. The radiator in the bathroom was on constantly it’s been a hot few days. Would definitely return it’s in a good location and the amenities in the hotel are excellent with an indoor and outdoor pool. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the area.

Unfortunately we had a room with a boring view of a worn roof towards the train station, even though we had chosen an upgrade. Maybe because we used earned bonus nights, I don't know. But the room was nice, good size and nicely clean. But we especially enjoyed the whole area by the bar. It was bright and airy here and had lots of good seating. Lovely breakfast buffet

Good location, great old building but in need of tlc. Staff were mixed; some helpful and friendly, others not. Prices at the bar ok considering. Only one lift working while we were there. Indoor car park at £10 per day is ok, but designed when cars were half the size, so exciting getting in and out at times. Hotel should police the careless and selfish drivers who blocked the already narrow access routes. Great views, room was tired decor-wise, no air-con, no fridge, winter weight quilt during the heatwave. Probably wouldn't bother again.

Lift out of order, no parking, not enough staff on reception at check out time

This is the second stay at The Grand. The staff are friendly, helpful and professional. We were bed and breakfast , the bed was very comfortable, the room was a decent size and the breakfast was very good. Although the room was clean the main window needs attention as putty is missing which makes it drafty and also it needs painting. The flat roof outside is an eyesore. We found the wifi poor and the size of the tv too small for the size of the room. A big positive for us is the location of the railway station as we will both be 80 years old in a few months we tend to use the train and not the car. We will certainly stay in The Grand in the future and would go for a higher room, as we previously had, in the hope we would have a better view. Thank you for our enjoyable stay.

The Grand Hotel is GRAND! No wonder why Agatha Christie spent her Honeymoon here! The manager, Luzio, and his staff go out of their way to make your stay at The Grand most memorable! My room had a beautiful view! Great location and lovely breakfast too!

Just sort your wi fi out it’s terrible, I had a medical emergency the poor paramedics were unable to speak to me , it was there staff that keep that place going they have a very good in house team , swimming pool food looked nice afraid I became to ill 🤒 to use but I do rate the place highly

Lovely family friendly hotel. Only down sides upon arrival we were asked to pay a deposit per night for potential damages even though we had fully paid in advance of our stay. This wasn't mentioned when booking and we were told we couldn't check in until we made the payment. Hotel was noisy at night as we were on the second floor and had people above us, below us and all around. The fire doors in the corridors slam constantly through the night with people returning to their rooms at all hours. We had an adjoining door in our room which just had a bolt on it which went into someone else's hotel room which worried me when travelling alone with a young child and wasn't mentioned upon booking. We had noisy people in the next room with young children who kept trying to open the adjoining door. Unfortunately the indoor pool , changing rooms and spa facilities were unavailable during our stay due to refurbishment. They do not have enough sun loungers around the pool and people fill the ones available with towels to save them hours before they swim. breakfast was great with a good choice of pastries, cereal, fruit and hot food. My daughter loved the outdoor pool. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We loved it is a dog friendly hotel. In a great location right by the beach and a lovely park. We enjoyed the walk down the pier, shops and restaurants. There's a lovely library area in the hotel and we also had a safe inside the wardrobe in our room. We would stay again.

Extremely poor maintenance poor food poor staff

Hotel was rated 4star its more like 2.to3 rooms very basic and bed old and un comfortable rooms need up grading won’t be stopping there again

The grand still won’t refund £376 Out of my account beside a £390 stay And Help the money untill they received it for a stay that didn’t happen . The cieling poured with water on my last stay The staff promised to email the receipts to show the back twice this still had t happened
