This guest house has prominent position in the centre of Pogerola village, up in the hills 1000ft above Amalfi, with amazing views over the hills to Ravello and out to the sea. The village is small but well served with restaurants, bars. Walking to and from Amalfi is not for the faint-hearted, but there is an excellent bus service down to Amalfi, and the return shuttle runs till 11.30pm. Antonio is a friendly and excellent host, and nothing was too much trouble for him. Our room was clean, bright, spacious and a bit quirky - in a good way! Would highly recommend if you want to visit Amalfi and avoid the over-priced and eternally busy centre there.

We loved Pogerola-a quiet town up above Amalfi with a few nice restaurants and a beautiful terrace with bar and gelaterie! There is a bus stop nearby only costs 1.50 euro to get up and down the hill from Amalfi. We walked down the path with steps to the town …beautiful walk took about 30 mins It was a delightful stay !!

Our room was on the main floor, above the restaurant, we could smell the food in the room and it was noisy until closing. We could hear them cleaning the kitchen. We could hear them bringing their trash containers when it was trash collection day, very noisy. The room was clean and spacious. Bed was nice and firm. Breakfast was very good and well organized. Lots of variety of fruits and croissants were fresh and delicious. Nice outdoor dining with view of the mountains. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Neighborhood was quiet and safe. Bus was very convenient and very close to Villa. We would love to come back but would like to have a room on the second floor, where it’s more quiet.

Absolutely loved staying here. The views are stunning and it is out of the main area which makes it so much quieter. The restaurant underneath is exceptional!

Lovely little property. Had a family feel. Staff are excellent and everywhere is so clean. Cakes at breakfast are home made and added to warm freshly delivered croissants, you cannot go wrong.

Comfortable and peaceful accommodation away from the hassle and bustle of Amalfi. Situated in a village called Pergerola, accessible by bus from Amalfi; not walking distance. Bus fare was very reasonable - tickets purchased beforehand at the cocktail bar or shop. Good spot to stop for drinks at the local Cocktail Bar which had splendid views of the coast from the village. Very friendly staff who helped with local knowledge like using the buses. Enjoyed breakfast outside on the terrace with the wonderful view.

Clean room. AC worked but only while in the room. Overall positive experience. Hotel staff really do everything they can to help! Didnt realize Pogerola was a 15 min trip from Amalfi when I booked. Dont underestimate the cliff!

Great small villa away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. It’s less than 30 min to walk or bus to town. Beautiful views from our room and the veranda where we had breakfast everyday. The staff was always nice and helpful. Would stay here again.

There are breathtaking views from the terrace. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and very clean. The breakfast was excellent. The restaurant a staff recommended was delicious and excellent service.

Our stay at the Villa Maria was awesome! If you are looking for a nice quiet place just outside of Almalfi, this is the perfect stay. The hotel hosts are very nice and the rooms were clean. There is lots of good restaurants within walking distance and everyone in the town is very helpful and friendly.

Large rooms and easy access to everything

Lovely decor. Across the street is a tea room that was open late where we had a couple of drinks. Our day didn't quite go as planned and the concierge called to assure that we were coming. We were and we arrived just in time to see him go. He was super helpful and we were so grateful for the communication.

Villa Maria is the gem hotel of Amalfi. Stunning views, privacy, less people and peaceful atmosphere. Breakfast was perfect daily and Andrea (owner) gave us the best advice on restaurants, hiking, private beaches where your not on top of each other like the one down near the center and more. This is by far the best boutique hotel we’ve ever stayed at.
