I enjoyed the most how true the place is to its history. You will, for example, not get bathrooms like this elsewhere today. And it works perfectly. So: welcome to another time and another place!

Very helpful & friendly staff. Above all, a imposing building in a stunning mountain location especially after a night of snow. Excellent dinner and breakfast buffet.

Spectacular drive to the hotel and then from the hotel over the mountains to Coimbre. Views were absolutely amazing. The hotel is fantastic. Loved every minute of our experience there.

This is a beautiful spot and hotel for those exploring the Parque Natural da Serra da Estrela. I gave it less of a rating for a couple of reasons. The food at dinner was not up to what I would have expected of a place like this, just ok. Breakfast was great however. I had a room with a turret and the space and view were amazing, but the washrooms needed a bit of work to make it a 4 or 5 star place.

Beautiful unique property with excellent facilities and staff who do their best to help.

Stunning private location and venue. We didn’t get much views of the valley from our Turrett room but it was nice to have our own balcony. The AC in the room isn’t that efficient at cooling but other than that, everything was perfect

The view was spectacular. Great breakfast options.

Lovely, clean, peaceful. And the staff were incredible - we left before breakfast, and they packed us fresh pastries to take with us. They met us at the counter with them at the crack of dawn. What a wonderful experience.

Like the place

Well located hotel and beautiful lobby area. Great staff . Valet parking which is helpful. Our room was extremely small, the towels were old and needed replacing , the bed comfy but pillows were not. I would say the hotel needs a refurb.

Nice and quiet hotel

After a winding road we arrived at a beautiful hotel. Checking in was done with ease and our room had the most beautiful vista, garden’s wonderful well worth the journey.

Be prepared to eat on site, but the restaurant menu does not offer a lot of choices. bar is located inside the restaurant so it’s a bit awkward. The grounds could be beautiful but look neglected which is a shame. Water in the indoor pool was freezing!!

Beautiful old building in amazing locality. The staff not friendly enough. The breakfast the most disappointing. Hard croissants, fruit past it’s peak and coffee machines that need attention.
