I had a genuinely positive experience staying at GreenStar Hotel Joensuu during my visit to Finland. The hotel is simple, affordable, and not marketed as a luxury property, yet it offered something I value deeply when traveling: thoughtful and caring hospitality. What stood out most was the staff. Every time I needed assistance or had a question, they were approachable, kind, and willing to help. Their attitude created a welcoming atmosphere that made the stay feel comfortable and stress-free. I also appreciated the practical amenities available to guests, including a kettle in the room and access to a shared kitchen area with a fridge, microwave, and crockery. These small details made a big difference, especially for a work-related stay. This experience reminded me that hospitality is not only about expensive décor or upscale branding. Sometimes a modest hotel with attentive staff and practical comforts leaves a far stronger impression than a much more expensive property.

Location is great and I really like the concept. Rooms are spacious. The complimentary coffee is a nice touch. Only minus was the carpet that had not been vacuumed and was full of hair.

My parents and me decided to stay in GreenStar hotel during four days they are visiting me in Joensuu so for us was amazing because is in the city center so we could go faster to any place and also when we did barbeque one morning they have a washing machine service and the dryer room free for customer which is a plus. Also we loved the tea and coffee free open 24 hours free for customers. But the only inconvenience was that if you lost the key during non office hours and you also left your phone you have to wait in the night that someone open the door for you or call the number of the elevator for that I recommend that in a future they will add a telephone to call the rooms or have another option in the case you lost the key.

We come from Spain and recently spent 5 days in Joensuu for work. We had an issue with the check in in the kiosk but the hotel staff was really kind and understood the problem so they solved the problem very soon and we really appreciated that. The location is really great. The room was cosy and the bathroom just enough (not very big, but comfy). The shower very nice too. Hot water came really soon! The best of all was the staff, really nice and professional. Thank you very much for making our stay so nice.

As a newcomer student I stayed at GreenStar Hotel Joensuu for one night. I was very impressed. I arrived at late night. But the self check in system was easy. The instructions were clear. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. Washroom felt fresh and tidy, which made my stay really pleasant after a long journey.
