The hotel facilities seem quite nice, just lack of service staff. However the room we were assigned on the 1st floor does not have Wifi. The young fellow was kind enough to change us to a room on the 3rd floor, which was ok for us although it lacks certain amenities. The worst thing happened was upon the check out. We made the reservation on Orbitz and prepaid the total amount on June 9th (~a month prior). When we check out, the reception lady asks us to pay again. We showed her Orbitz confirmation email and our credit card statement showing the charge but she insists that room was not paid. She doesn’t speak or understand any English and didn’t understand email in English either. Unfortunately no any other staff was around to help. We wasted at least half an hour and were behind our schedule. We travel 4 months each year and this is the first time that we encountered such a nightmare. Either Orbitz messed up or the hotel’s system did. Anyway, I hope this will never happen again!

I liked the general view, the sightseeing, the spa I think the hotel needs some renewals, some things need to be cared like wood steps, carpets, etc etc It´s a 4 star hotel almost 3 stars

Our room curtain was torn out showing absolute sloppiness, the wardrobe smells mold and the glass protecting the shower let all the shower water out risking trespassing the toilette door. We dined there the food was normal but on the table cloth there was an insect calmly walking. Under the table cloth it was very dirty. The spa was dirty and with sloppy air. The free hot tub was filled with dirty water with a sign saying "In maintenance". We've been there for three days and no one approached it. The reception either in check in as in check out very unprofessional and not very kind. The only thing good about the hotel is the surrounding landscape. If the owners don't take care of this hotel very quickly it will become a place to forget.

Awful experience. Starting from the room, it’s clear that the maintenence doesn’t exist and the hotel overall maintenance stopped in time somewhere around 2008. The room was not clean, with insects, only one glass for two people (hotel policy according to the receptionist). The only upsides were the view and the bed. Early in the morning the shower water was dark brown, absolutely unacceptable for a 4-star. Also, the breakfast is not 4-star level, very basic with rude support by the staff. The outside pool is a illusion. The outside jacuzzis are paid for (10 euros per person per 30min). In general, not worthy of the price at all and I can say that I’ve stayed in lower star hotels and even hostels with better conditions.

Nice hotel. The place is beautifull. And has great conditions for the guests.

It was a dissapontment. The spa is in very bad shape. The Outdoor pool is actualy not a pool, unfortunately because it could have saved the stay. The room balcony was not very clean. The gym is terríble. Breakfast very poor and there were Flora on the food. And overal the hotel needs a renewal.

The hotel is located in an amazing place and it is very nice. But it is missing a lot of details. All the towels, robes and blinds are in very poor condition. Missing amenities in the bathroom, water on the floor because of poor management. With all these problems and more little details, I still think this hotel deserves a visit

peaceful, restful stay, excellent food at reasonable prices.

The hotel was very clean and the staff very helpful. The food was amazing flavorful and just the right portions. I had a really good massage there with hot rocks. They even gave me tea and cookies after the massage! I felt so pampered. The hotel is situated on top of a mountain and it was so beautiful to look at the stars while laying in bed, eating dinner or even in the pool. We also we're able to book the jacuzzi and watch the sunset. It was very romantic. The only thing that wasn't that great was the refrigerator in the room- it was on but didn't keep the food cool.

This hotel has so much potential. Sadly there is a lot to be desired too. The view is stunning but is that enough? The rooms are good, if a little old. Beds really comfortable too. But lost revenue in an empty mini-bar! The staff are really friendly but appear totally untrained in all aspects of hotel duties, so are completely out of their depth. The restaurant has the same lovely view but needs a chef and staff who can cope with more than 4 tables. The bar (when open) needs to serve beer in beer glasses, porto-tonic in something bigger than the 125ml wine glass they used with us, and some ice would have been nice. The Staff need to be given some level of training. Overall a beautiful building but with only 23 rooms and genuinely hopeless business acumen, I struggle to see how this place will survive much longer.

Lovely hotel with amazing mountain views in what seems to be the middle of nowhere. Perfect for nature lovers as there is a hiking trail that runs next to the property. Remote location may not be suitable for all but was just what we were looking for.

Gostamos bastante do spa, a sauna e o banho turco estavam a funcionar, a temperatura da piscina interior poderia ser um bocadinho mais alta. As espreguiçadeiras e a vista eram muito boas. Também gostamos bastante do serviço de restauração. O quarto, era dos mais simples e mais baratos, mas apenas de categoria 3 estrelas, alcatifa no chão, mobiliário antigo, a precisar de remodelação e sem produtos de higiene, ao contrário do descrito na reserva.

Magnifique endroit. La combi spa dans un hôtel perché en montagne est un must absolu. Malheureusement j’ai eu des voisins très bruyants qui ont claqué des portes et coulisser les portes fenêtres tard le soir (après 22h), l' hotel n' est nullement responsable de cela. Mais cela fait partie de mon séjour. J'ai aussi un bémol concernant la partie restaurative. J'ai commandé du saumon aux légumes, un délice, mais la tranche de saumon était bien maigrichonne. Servir une portion enfant dans un hôtel 4 étoiles m' a décue. La serveuse, à qui j'ai fait la remarque , m' a proposée de m' en offrir un second . J'ai trouvé ce geste correct. J'aurais apprécie avoir reçu des olives/ pain/ beurre vu que l' étabissement est portugais. J'ai donc été étonnée de ce manque.
