The hotel had a great location and was located directly on the beach. However, the maintenance on the property was severely lacking. Our entry door was poor condition, the sliding glass door on the patio wouldn’t completely shut and let wind through, there was no table for the other side of the bed, the dresser drawers were damaged and didn’t match, we were only given bath towels, and no hand towels, and the staff didn’t seem very pleased that we were there.

As I tried to check in , reception said rooms no rest I’ll go get you in less than 15 minutes , as she never showed up 45 minutes later with a new person at reception checked in … also I ordered a lemonade that was to be taken to me on the beach … 30 minutes later went back to bar and got” oops I forgot “to

we had to change room twice because the rooms booked were not available day of arrival, then room door did not lock (yes ) tv did not work,in other room ac did not work,toilets had problems and no power in bedroom and only cold water to shower. this hotel is going down. coconuts not cut off trees falls on sitting area. nightmare.

we did not get the room we paid for the was not much to choose from at breakfast we got a room on the second floor and the stairs were very dangerous i fell over a couple of times

Hotel is old and everything is broken. Worst service ever!

They claim to have laundry and they dont, they say to have small fridge and none are working, my Ac was not working properly and they dont care, location is far from the center wich has all food variety. Their Rest and bar has very short menu and low cuality.like 2 ppl from the staff ok the rest especially front desk wont solve any of your problems. Hotel has potential but Its like no one care, cant recomend it.

Upon arrival, check in was suppose to be at 3pm. The hotel staff had us waiting 2 hours, we ended up checking in at 5pm. San Andres locals are not very friendly and lack customer service. The room's ac did not work properly and the bathroom door was broken. There's a restaurant in sight, the food is way overpriced. There are no other restaurants in the area leaving you no other option than to have to eat there, unless you grab a taxi to where all the restaurants are which is about a 20min car ride away from the village. Don't expect to be able to walk around and venture out of the hotel since there is nothing around. This is a place you may enjoy if you're looking to just relax in one spot at the beach and dont mind over paying for food.

We stayed 4 nights in an ocean view upper room. Staff were friendly and accomodating and restaurant dinner was very good. This is a wonderful place to be directly on the San Luis beach, walking distance to several restaurants and a convenience store. The hotel provides shaded chaise lounge chairs on beach, excellent beachfront bar service, and music. Special dinners and activities can be arranged. Hot water and wifi in the room were reliable.

My partner and I planned our 1 year anniversary to stay on San Andres Island. We booked 2 nights at another hotel, and when we checked in, we were told we could only stay 1 night. After a truly awful experience at that hotel, I frantically searched for another hotel hoping the island wasn't completely booked. The MS San Luis Village hotel SAVED THE DAY! Every single staff person was kind, smiling and helpful. The room was large, had strong air conditioning, and a spacious shower. The food was extremely delicious and the private beach was beautiful beyond compare. We were thinking we would never come to San Andres again, but now we have a Hidden Treasure waiting for us 😁.

Our expectations were definitely different. The photos presented in the description of the hotel should be renewed immediately because the deterioration in which the hotel is found, is not observed in what Expedia sells. Although we were accommodated in a room with a sea view, the door of the room was difficult to open/close. The safety deposit box did not work and although we asked for help at the front desk, they never sent us the requested support. The refrigerator in the room was very rusty and deteriorated (although it worked). The food in the restaurant was average, when it was available. Due to the location of the hotel there were no other options nearby for dinner (only for lunch) and with a very limited menu, it is incredible to hear that there is no seafood (when you are on an island). Every night we had to ask which of the dishes were available. The hotel has no wifi in any room, nor in the common areas and it is a service offered in the description. The beach was dirty (plastic waste) and there was a high accumulation of seaweed on the shore, which may be normal for the season, but in our opinion, it should have been picked up by the hotel staff, however it was increasing every day. On the beach there were only chairs for guests, no umbrellas (these had to be paid for separately from a third party) and no beach towels were offered.

Hotel was not a 4 star but is well kept. The beach is only a few feet away and the staff is friendly and helpful. Overall it was a wonderful experience. Not to mention the island is beautiful and full of free spirited people.

Nice small hotel, beach front with beautiful beach, the standard rooms are small but suites are very good they have service to the beach so you can order any drink or food directly to you Lounge. I will recommend the hotel to relax out of the center.

False Advertisement! From the description and photos on this site, you would expect nothing short of absolute beauty. WRONG!! The pool most definitely didn’t look anything like the colors in the photo, in fact, it was dirty and had a sign saying we couldn’t use it due to maintenance. There was a patio sliding door to access the room, which had a key hole and lock that was rotted, old and had to be maneuvered a certain way for you to lock/unlock the door. Doesn’t make a guest feel safe at all. There were stray animals (cats and dogs) literally walking around the property and at your feet while dining, clearly wanting to be fed. The hot water only worked when the light was on in the bathroom, which was explained by the front desk receptionist. The staff was rude and seemed to have an attitude each time a question was asked. The only good thing that I have to say about this resort, well actually I won’t even call it a resort, this hotel, is that the alcoholic beverages made by the bartender were good and it was only about a 5 minute walk to a nice beach. Other than that, thumbs down. I definitely will NOT be referring anyone to stay here, nor will I be back myself!!

After reading mostly poor reviews on the Hotel MS, I decided most of them were petty and unrealistic in what they thought was bad about the place. I was wrong. The beach was covered in trash and seaweed, they made no effort to keep it clean. There were stray dogs wondering the beach as well, in addition, these stray dogs liked to hang out in the hotels restaurant and be fed by inconsiderate guests. Our room had a sliding glass door that couldn't be locked, anyone could have walked up and let themselves in. In my opinion this was an unacceptable security risk. I ended up shoving a dresser drawer on the track so it couldn't be opened. Then there was the water....the shower and sink water had the scent of sewage in it. We opted to go without showers during our stay for fear of what we were actually bathing in. The staff in the restaurant really did work hard, they were clearly under staffed and at one point one of the girls who was off shift showed up to help. In the end, we checked out a day early. The front desk worker asked if we had an issue with the hotel and we said yes. We were met with silence, indicating they really didn't care. We paid 150 dollars a night for this place and ended up eating a nights worth just to get away. The worst part of all of this was we moved to a luxury hotel for 50 dollars more a night, so you're really not saving any money by going to Hotel MS. Do yourself a favor, stay away from this hotel.

The property has potential. The good, nice location, private beach, large sized rooms. The bad, the beach has lots of seaweed, the restaurant is overpriced and the quality is marginal at best. Cats and dogs are in the restaurant while you eat begging for food.Hotel needs updating in general.

Beautiful property in front of the beach. The hotel staff was very nice and very attentive the whole time I was there. The restaurant was very good as well. I would definitely come back to this hotel and I recommended
