This riad is lovely, has mod cons and is situated in a lovely location, easy to get to all the souks and the taxi rank. However there are some areas for improvement bearing in mind that I have been to Marrakech twice before and stayed in local riads… on our arrival we were greeted warmly with refreshments but then were told that a staff member will be explaining the area on a map and this went on for quite some time which I felt was really unnecessary especially as we were not asked if we needed this information. We were quite tired, already had our days planned and booked museums and this was not needed. No other riad has subjected me to this and certainly not the way I would like to start the holiday. I had to ask twice to allow us to just get changed and start exploring the city.
Their breakfasts were not substantial, especially as a vegetarian who does not eggs, they did not cater enough. I had asked for some yoghurt and they did not have any on any of the days. Again in contrast to other riads who have provided a far more substantial breakfast. They also had real problems with their card machine which I found quite stressful to be honest, and I wasn’t the only English person who experienced this. Again other riads I’ve stayed at did not have this problem. They are issues with their plumbing from scorching hot to very cold.
