To say this is a "resort" is stretching it. There is no room service, no bar, no dinner dining option, the deck chairs are in disrepair, along with most of the property along the beach and the outside of the building. Not sure when the pictures they have on the this site were taken, but they either were a long time ago or they do a fantastic cleanup job before the summer tourist season starts. It is also pretty far from the city and things to do and see so you'll either Uber a lot of rent a scooter, which is an option I am not sure is wise for the area. Oh, and the resort is right next to the university so many students on sooters and plenty of noise from sporting events. We had a "mountain room" and you could see a mountain across the bay, if you squint. It is at the front of the resort next to the road so plenty of traffic noise until late. In the morning we had work crews trimming trees with chainsaws to enjoy The beach was a decent stretch, about 1/2 to walk on, so there is that positive. The staff were polite but not much to offer. We had them do our laundry and got it back all shoved in the same bag we gave them and of course it was all wrinkled and some items were still damp. And the bed.. well the bed has seen better days maybe 10-15 years ago. It was flat, like plywood flat. All the springs were collapsed, it did not have any bounce of give. We told the staff and the next day they put a little mattress topper under the sheets that just made the plywood feel soft

The staff is wonderful and kind. I love the secluded black sand beach and that it is away from the city.

Very quaint property that has been there for 50 years. Right on the beach is a plus. Staff are very good!

Our room was clean and comfortable. The front desk was very disappointing showing lack of hospitality, helpfulness and knowledge about the hotel. Exterior could use renovation. Good location, reasonable price.

To be fair, Check in was ok and staff friendly. The $5000NT was not worth the money. Part sea view, weddings and announcers noisy. Breakfast terrible. Beach... dirty. Hotel far away from anything. Don't bother!

A little bit pricey, a little bit pity that we could not have some drinks & dining in the hotel, they all closed by 6pm, so we have to take around 10 mins maybe longer by car to find something to eat. The amenities in the hotel is just OKAY. If possible, I will strongly recommend that they could change their BED, they are not that comfortable. However, the staffs in this hotel are very friendly, smiling and willing to help, that’s impressed us. The beach is awesome, sunset is amazing beautiful, my family had a good time with their kid there. 👍

The location was good as far being close to the beach and the Monkey Mountain. A little far from downtown, night markets, etc. Beautiful rooms and view. The Taiwanese restaurant on site was very good. There is a beautiful cafe with a view at the college above the cafeteria. Just find the Family Mart and take the outside staircase on the left. There is a path up the mountain accessible through the college. This is a back path, quite rough. We were unable to make it to the top. Did see LOTS of monkeys though!

Beautiful black sand private beach! I do wish they have a swimming pool though. At the busy city it’s wonderful to be able to get away to the quiet peaceful hotel .😍

Beach front location was wonderful. Breakfast overlooking the sea very pleasant. Convenient location to visit the old British consulate and right next door to Sun Yat Sen University. Easy walking to KMRT Sizihwan Station via an old tunnel accessible from the university.

This is a little beachfront oasis on the edge of a large university campus, a modest (about 15 minute) walk (partly through a long tunnel) from the edge of a big city with a beautiful new Metro stop (end of the line). It borders a steep mountain (hence the tunnel) most of which is a park including a zoo and nature preserve full of wild macaque monkeys. Hence a really interesting combination resort and urban experience. However, the beach is black sand, the water is quite shallow and fairly dirty, so ok for cooling off but a less than great place to swim.

I had a small family wedding banquet gathering here and it was beautiful. They had great restaurant services for our banquet and we had so much fun. This is considered an elite location for a wedding banquet especially due to the historical nature of the site. We had no difficulty speaking in English with the concierge. The room was elegant, clean and large, with a nice bathroom. Good strong water stream. Due to the historical nature of the location, the rooms are not as uptodate as one would expect from a modern hotel. I wish we could have stayed more nights (we only stayed 2 nights) as the beach was wonderful. Be sure to ask the front desk to call a taxi for you as there aren't as many taxis that will just pass by due to their secluded location. This is not the hotel for you if you are handicapped as they do not have an elevator.

We stay here for 4 days. right after typhoon came. hotel was very clean, and they did a quick job cleaning and setting up the outdoor chairs. The room was huge. Traveling with a 2 year old. This is VERY important. He had lots of space to play around in the room. The bathroom was spacious. The only downside was that the shower had no pressure and it took about 15-20 min to get some warm water, after that it will get hot, it just took forever! (Not good to be waiting for the shower with a 2 year old). Breakfast was great. We saw the buffet, it had cereal, fruit, yogurt, bread so we thought it was ok (considering it was included), then they came with the main course( Which we didn't knew it was coming the 1st day) it included scramble eggs, sausage and vegetables. Every day they changed the main course, always eggs, a meat (sausage, bacon) and vegetable. Beach is nice. You can see the sunset. sand is sooo soft (it is the dark color sand, almost black) but it was really soft. Water was nice and warm to swim and you can walk for a while and it was not too deep.
