The staff and cleanliness is very good. There was no hot water in both the tap and showers. Could not have a shower and we had a body wash using cold water. The bed are very old and soft . There was a depression on the left side while lying down which is the area people sit when they are about to climb into the bed. The room we used should not have been used for paying customers. I don’t know if other rooms are the same. Beds need changing and showers sorting out. I also had issues of my money being taken twice and I was told it’s a well known problem. I booked one room and they took money for two rooms which I managed to cancel. I then noticed the deposit again was taken twice £100 instead of £50 which gets refunded back. They promised me that the monies will be returned to me in 10 working days. Staff were good and took time to explain and written down my complaints. I hope they do sort the issues above

Good value for money would stay again

Although clean, the hotel decor is very dated and tired. As for the breakfast, do not bother!! Not good at all!!

Very dated, side lamps hanging off wall, toilet seat not fitted properly, only one pull down blind, seats in bar really grubby arms. Parking good, breakfast had only full fat milk, very cheap products real shame!!

Parking included is a bonus factor for the area

The Mountford Hotel was easy to find,adequate parking and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Continental breakfast had a good selection, definitely stay again

Clean room

This is a traditional hotel with some upgrades. A few additional touches like shelves/hooks, in the lovely new bathroom we had in our superior room, would make this worthy of another star. The staff are efficient and our room was clean. Breakfast was better than most state, I enjoyed porridge and boiled eggs, plus fruit. All in all, a decent hotel and much cheaper for a Saturday night, than most in central Liverpool.

The property is old but beautiful, it's need more work but you can see the attempts at slowly bring this epic building to be more modern. If you like an building with character then this place is for you as is perfect and really clean just a little dated but if too much was done it would take away the buildings character

The room was nice and clean, bed was uncomfortable as you rolled into the middle. Breakfast no cereal the first morning, needed something hot, the boiled eggs were cold, for the money it was ok bery easy to get a bus into the city.

Parking safe, nice conti breaky

The hotel had all the amenities you might need and parking is a bonus. It was also close to the student area which was great as walking distance from my sons . The reception staff were efficient but not especially friendly. The disappointment was the breakfast. We walked into a dark room without set tables there was some ham and cheese on a plate as well as a few other bits and a loaf of mouldy white bread. Every person that walked into the room had a look of disappointment. It wouldn’t take much to improve this experience. The hotel would be better not to offer breakfast at all as it really did disappoint.

The room was fairly clean, but the curtains were very old and didn’t block out the light from outside, and a light from the neighbouring property kept flashing all night long through our bedroom window. The bathroom had been refurbished and was clean. Breakfast isn't a full English breakfast, and it was OK, but there could have been more fruit options, and there were no cakes or yoghurts.

This place is the perfect mix between charm and modern expectation. Clean, vibrant and pleasant. I love being right next to Sefton Park

It's expensive for what it is. The welcome involves some reminders of the reason why people choose those budget chain hotels, including signing for a 30 day holding charge of a significant amount on your card. The room was in a poor state, the ceiling was messy and the taps move as you turn them. The bed had a central point that a couple can roll into and the wooden floor has seen better days. The noise through the single glazing let's you experience the road throughout your stay and the emergency vehicles and motorbikes make the dark hours less relaxing. Breakfast is basic and not great. The staff are all friendly and the place has a (slightly ripped up) pool table and lounge area with a bar. The car park is very limited, but there is parking for free on the busy road outside. I wouldn't stay here again and I forgot how much it cost, (just checked.. Oh no!) thinking it was a cheap one, but it's not. I guess Liverpool is not the best value for hotels and so this hotel was one of the less expensive of the expensive options out there.

Rooms were fairly clean. Hotel itself had a vintage retro vibe to it. Did not get Parking inside the Hotel premises after a late night arrival at 11 pm. Had to park on the main road next to a neighbouring property. Hotel staff mentioned ‘It is what it is if you come this late at night as the hotel has very limited parking spaces inside‘ , plus he has other customers waiting at the hotel bar , so can’t be bothered about car Parking ! Room central heating turned of at night , provided with an old broken leg electric radiator which was only turning warm at best. Single glazed big windows in the room and bathroom added to the cold. No hot water for 2 hours in the morning, long queue of customers at the reception waiting for a resolution, Receptionist had no clue whatsoever. Continental breakfast was good .

I was really pleasantly surprised. The room was ready early and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was exceptional.

Clean tidy very helpful

Room was spotless, the bed was comfortable to sleep in, the staff were helpful and had great customer service, i believe breakfast is included however we didn’t want to try any as we don’t like eating in the morning🙈The hotel itself was very clean and was very easy to find, only thing that is a pain is the £50 deposit takes quite a few days to go back into your account, overall it was a very pleasant stay and i would recommend!!
