This was my first time staying at a capsule hotel and I must admit, I was a little nervous. But after actually staying for a night, I am so glad I overcame my fears as it turned out to be one of my favorite experiences of Japan : ) The place is not difficult to find as it is conveniently located in the central area of Okayama. After checking-in at the front desk, you are given a capsule room and a locker to keep you belongings. (You are given a locker key so your stuff will be safe.) One of the staff told me that the capsule rooms are actually designed by a famous Japanese designer. Although it feels a little retro, you no doubt feel like you are entering a Japanese futuristic world and I liked it. You also have access to all of their facilities including a sauna, a Jacuzzi, showers, spa and a rest area with big chairs. The rest area has multiple TV screens and lots of comics (manga), magazines and newspapers that you can read anytime. What’s more, there is a drink bar with free drinks too ; )
