Unfortunately not my best visit here - visited several Times - checked in quite late - went straight to my room for a bath - no hot water ! - then headed down stairs for a bit to eat - had the same as my previous visit ( chicken bourguignon which was great last time) - unfortunately this time it was reheated microwaved mush - so headed to bed , unfortunately for me I was woken up by rocking headboards at 1.30 ( my neighbour was obviously having a better night than me ) thin walls between rooms means very little goes unheard ( congratulations must go to my neighbour as the wall Was still rocking an hour later ) - so very little sleep Was had by any of us - I will visit again as usually this place is great value but a few things could be improved with a little effort

Excellent Hotel with a lot of history. Staff welcoming and efficient, rooms clean and comfortable, food excellent.

Lovely room amenities are great. Staff is a bit hit and miss, bar staff don't know the hotel details. Was a little late checking out but then had to return as I'd left my car keys in the room......was met with a somewhat indifferent member of staff who could do with a little customer service training. Nevermind!

Comfortable small room, just needs a little update. But had a lovely breakfast.

The room was small. Could see through the door hinges to the corridor . Must be thin walls as could hear someone on the phone rather clearly. Bath was great. The cold water tap in the bathroom was very difficult to turn on and get a good floe

The room was very clean and the staff were very helpful. The evening meal was very good.

Room small but was spotless and the bed comfortable. The staff were all helpful and pleasant - nothing too much trouble and they did all they could to ensure an enjoyable stay. Despite a very busy time with an event for Remembrance they went out of their way to ensure the hotel guests were not neglected.

Very pleasant stay in early October, stayed one night. Arrived just as they were about to close the kitchen for the evening which was unfortunate (victim of circumstance), so be aware of that, however a recommended local pub was a very good alternative. Didn't have breakfast booked due to time constraints

Breakfast was alright but dirty plates and cutlery everywhere. Service was hit and miss.
