Excellent stay in this charming and welcoming hotel. Welcoming staff, nice historic building and a comfortable room, with good heating and a welcome warm shower on a cold winter's night. The only drawback to this hotel is the fact that it doesn't have a lift - I was on the top floor and the walk up the stairs (though manageable for a person in good health) would be very difficult for someone with mobility issues, or if you had to carry heavy cases up the stairs. I stayed in this hotel overnight for business purposes, and I couldn't be happier with service and the amenities - wifi was quick and easy to set up, bedding was clean and comfortable, staff were always on hand to help. I am bemused as to why I've seen so many disconcerting reviews in regards to what is clearly a very well-run and well looked after hotel. Please do not let strangely harsh reviews put you off an overnight at this excellent hotel.

Cosy comfortable rooms, no breakfast, and no 24 hour reception, arrive before 7 no one at the desk until noon.

Good place close to station, hope you like stairs though.
