The staff is excellent they kept the property very clean. They are very accommodating. There's a lovely garden setting complete with a cat a parrot and a goldfish pond. Out of their control. the water is brown. It leaves you and your clothes unclean. Construction next door starts at 7:00 a.m. 7 days.

The bad thing in this place …. The bathroom of our room was outside the room on the hallway so totally disappointed 😗

Very nice location just seemed a little outdated. It was very hot in the room, but we understood due to the season. Maybe extra fans in the room would’ve helped.

Good location. The towels smelled unfresh but other than that it was fine for one night.

Love this place, second year I've stayed here. It's clean, colorful and cheerful, also off main street so quiet.

Essentially a private room hostel, it’s a safe and easy spot to stay, great location in Panajachel (just a couple minutes walk to the lake). The staff is friendly and responsive.

This hotel is in good condition, nice rooms and ambiance. It has a great location along the main road and close to the lake, easy access to food, shopping, ferries. The main intersection of the road plays loud music, but you are at the opposite end so it is quiet except for a rooster that continuously crows all through the night...bring ear plugs! :D This place was safe and great value.

The hotel was an excellent value for the price. Very conveniently located near boats for the lake, restaurants, and shopping. I would stay here again!

Location is great. Room is good size for 3 people. 5% credit card surcharge is very high and not necessary. Bathroom lacks privacy with window directly looking into neighbouring hotel.

I had reserved a third floor room with private rooftop terrace but when we checked in at 2pm we were told that the only room available was on the main floor right next to the office, kitchen and washing machine. We were not given a discount . The beds were comfortable but it was noisy with people talking by the office very early in the morning and some kind of pump going on and off constantly. The small courtyard was pretty and it was set far enough back from the main street that we didn't heard the Saturday night party crowd.

Close to the lake and súper confortable and with excellent staff

We had booked a room with 2 beds but we ended up with one queen size. I was traveling with my brother so it wasn't too comfortable to share the bed. Also, you couldn't close the bathroom door. However, the room was clean and the place was very cosy. The location and the Wifi was great. I also like that they had free water and coffee.

El Viajero is a very charming place at the first impression. Me and my boyfriend were put in a very nice private room with an ok private bathroom. Breakfast was not included, which it was fine, though for the price (USD35) it should be. We wanted to stay another night, but the room was not available anymore, and they wanted to move us to another room a bit more expensive. We decided it wasnt worth it and went to a 20 dollar hostel next to it, since we would only spend the night and be out the whole day. The staff was not very friendly, they did not have any map or helpful informations about the city, and for sure, if you want to book any tour or shuttle, you have to go out to some agency on the streets, since the hostel doesnt seem to provide any of those services. Overall, an ok stay that could be way better if the people working there wanted to.
