Really nice place the spa was excellent only downside was the creaking floor when the room above was occupied

We were in room 5 and the room was really dated. The bathroom was extremely old and the shower pressure was dreadful when we eventually got it working. Also a nightmare with the room lock as was really hard to lock with cheap handle. We heard other guests complaining about their locks at reception too. We were at the Xmas do so had 6 rooms and everyone was really disappointed with their rooms.

The issue was the room. There was a musty smell and there were no windows. I felt like I was in a converted store cupboard.

Excellent and friendly welcome. The decor is dated but the facilities and rooms are comfortable and well appointed.

The Reception staff were lovely. We were disappointed with our rooms though - the floorboards creaked very loudly at any slight movement.The rooms were very tired & dated and the bathroom in Room 31 was very '70s with a poor shower over the bath with a shower curtain. The room was very cold too. We only had one set of towels in two of the three rooms I booked & the bath towel in our room was was damp but the lady in Reception gave us extra towels & replaced the damp towel. The hotel itself downstairs was beautiful & the breakfast was delicious. creaked really badly & the roo. Was

Room was by no means there usual standard. Very bleak, far far to hot a poor reflection of Shaw Hill.

Great golf course and staff were very friendly and helpful.

The room was a bit old fashioned with creaky floorboards - although the bathroom was nice. Food was a bit patchy - the chicken was dry and rather tasteless, the mushroom starter was nice, the ice cream good, didn’t get a chance to see the spa - the view across the golf course was lovely - with investment could be a lovely place

Generally a nice hotel, staff were nice. We wasn’t given full information on check in, such as if you wanted your room cleaned you had to book that the night before. Also there was a private event on Friday night & when we went to the dine we was initially told we couldn’t eat in the hotel, after complaining we was told we could dine but not till after 8pm once the private event was catered for. We agreed to this but our food order was not taken till 8.30pm & that was after prompting…! It was nearly 10pm before our food arrived. It made you feel rather unimportant as a guest. However food was really nice.

I stayed one night at this hotel and overall had a great experience. The customer service was excellent, especially the waiting staff in the breakfast area who were very attentive. The room was massive with a lovely view, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The bus service was also very convenient and well-organized. The only downside was the lack of a lift. With a large piece of luggage, I had to carry it upstairs, which was a bit inconvenient. Other than that, everything was very nice and I truly enjoyed my stay.

Beds were awful. Rooms were hot. Staff very unfriendly.

The staff were welcoming, our room was clean but there was extensive water damage on the ceiling, the sash windows were in poor condition and one was even painted shut! We stayed for a family wedding and were very disappointed with the overall, tired, condition of the property. The bride and groom had to move to another room as the honeymoon suite flooded during the night! Much work needed to bring it up to standard I would think!
