We arrived at night and left the next morning, and for that purpose it worked well. Good location, but like many riads in old medinas, it is hard to find. The staff member did met us in our car and guided us to the riad, which we appreciated. Be aware that you must carry your own bags for about a 5–7 minute walk through uneven, bumpy streets inside the medina. Assistance with luggage was not offered, even for smaller bags like a laptop bag, so this is better suited for backpacks or light luggage. The room was spacious and comfortable, maybe the largest room we stayed in at a riad. It was clean, the bathroom was well equipped, amenities were plentiful, and bottles of water were provided. This place offers a decent value for the area. Breakfast was a highlight. The traditional Moroccan breakfast was very good, and when the staff was unsure whether we wanted tea or coffee, they kindly brought both. There were a few issues: We filled out forms with our detailed personal information at check-in, including passport details and signatures, and the completed forms were left unattended overnight and still there the next morning, which raised privacy concerns. Late-night phone calls in the common area carried into the room and disrupted our sleep, which was especially difficult given our jet lag. Overall, a practical option with a good location and comfortable room, but better attentiveness to privacy, noise, and guest comfort would improve the experience

Had better experiences in other Riads. No greeting with Mint tea. Refused to come to our driver to assist with bags and finding the Riad. Tareq was not overall very welcoming - we were very used to this welcome with all of the properties we had stayed in. Breakfast was quite plain. No shower in room, only a bath in the middle of the room.

Beautiful place! Truly zen like. Great people and I recommend having a dinner! I had a surprise proposal dinner and they were very accommodating. The pool is great too. It’s great addition to cool off and lounge.

The service was great. Tariq was so friendly and very helpful. He gave us a lot of great tips for our stay in Rabat. The Riad felt like an oasis in the Medina.

Lovely property and very well restored and decorated, very peaceful and quiet. All that was in vain for me and the room I stayed in (pearl) however as the light from outside shone through the moucharabieh, and badly affected my sleep on all five night. See photo. Also this doesn't have a bath, it's a shower now so the web photos need updating. If you specifically want a tub you may be disappointed. They don't clean the rooms unless you specifically request it to be done , saying some people don't like cleaners being in the room (surely anybody would saybat check in if that was the case ?) The breakfast policy is very odd. You have to state a breakfast time at the beginning of the stay, and that will be your breakfast time for the duration, you cannot deviate from it If you are one, five, byen, however many minutes late it will still go on the table at that time for the local birds and flies to feadt on Don't get it - three rooms and it only takes five minutes to warms some baked goods and put them on a plate. Small things, no welcome drink at check in, only one bath towel provided, water not replenished. Once they have got on top.of the basics here a small fridge in the room would be massively beneficial and sun loungers on the top roof would be a huge selling point. Verdict -,3 star property at a four star prices. Has the potential for a great spot with some improvements

This was a very quaint guest house that was comfortable and just right. A great breakfast. The kitchen was immaculate. Ventrally located in the old town - a great place to spend a few days.

This riad was a dream. Pretty quaint and tucked in the middle of the medina. Google maps did not direct us infront of the riad, but its not that hard to find if u pay attention and zoom in the map. Its very relaxing to stay in this riad and we were in the camel room with. O ac in the middle of June but had a fan in it, and it was not hot. The host asked us if we ‘d prefer a room w ac, which were upstairs but we wanted the room closer to the pool. It was excellent.

This was our first stay in Morocco. Room was simply decorated. The tub in the middle of the room was interesting. Hard for me to wash my long hair but soaking in it after walking miles each day was heaven. The level of the bathroom mirror was too low, but likely limited because of room architecture. The AC unit stopped working in the middle of the night, so a few warm hours. Despite this hiccups, it was a nice refuge from the bustling medina and Tarik was sweet and helpful.

The property was just as beautiful as the pictures show. The only issue was getting there. You need internet access to a good GPS and no taxi can get you to the door. You will need to walk for about 10 min with your luggage and GPS to find it. But it is worth the walk, and very peaceful. Although it is very quiet it was not that private as our room was right next to the common area. Overall I would recommend this place. There were many tourist attractions within walking distance. I also recommend walking down to the beach and oceanside.

DAR ZEN is a lovely authentic Morroccan hotel. Located in the old town in Medina. The staff are really helpful and professional. I really enjoyed my stay and thanks so much to Tarek for all the help .

This is my second stay at Dar Zen. Tarek, the caretaker is wonderful. I’ve read some negative comments in reviews but I couldn’t disagree more. The place is in the middle of a busy souk that is a bit intense - and you have to walk through (you cannot be driven to the door) so that could be a legit concern. However, if you’re after a genuine riad experience, where you are essentially left on your own, this is the place for you. Truth is the place is so peaceful, I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Rabat. Sure there’s a bathtub in the middle of the room, but it’s a bit of a vibe. If your looking to have a Hilton experience, then go to a hotel. This is where you come to get a real Moroccan experience

Beautiful picturesque place, exactly like the pics. The staff are super gracious, friendly and not in your face. The walk to the place is a bit mad walking through the medina, but also makes it feel authentic. Unique experience, with lovely people

All the staff were so friendly and kind and went beyond just providing a room at the guest house. One of the staff became our guide and chaperone for me and my daughter who is studying in Rabat with her University for the semester. Accommodation is excellent in the beautiful guest house hidden in the Medina. Very tranquil and away from the bustling Medina and marketplace.
