**FOR AMERICANS** This is the real experience and extremely authentic. If you are looking for a true traditional Japense onsen, this is for you. Also, be aware that this is not in Nikko proper - and a bit tricky to get to - you need to take a Tobu Nikko train from Nikko to Kinugawaonsen Station.Be aware that the staff speaks VERY limited English so try to communicate with them ahead of time to plan. They are so kind and helpful and will pick you up from the train station or take you to nearby sites. We did a beautiful hike at a national park nearby and the foliage was beautiful. The food is amazing and included in the price of your stay. This is the real deal - traditional breakfast and dinner with many courses. All the guests were Japense and the onsen was gorgeous and very clean. This is an experience we will never forget and we are so greatful for our time there.

Wonderful greeting to enjoy this beautiful property for a day. The amenities are first rate and meals are clever and service in the restaurant is excellent. Rooms are a little dated but would not prevent me from booking there again.

We reserved a Western style bedroom which came with a Japanese style tatami room with sitting area. Our room also have a view of the river.

Clean and warm, welcome staff

The staff went above and beyond to help make our stay a memorable one. They helped us with sightseeing ideas around Nikko and did multiple trips with the hotel shuttle to get our group of 9 to these places. Breakfast and dinner were spectacular, each meal prepared with such elaborate dishes. Onsen was larger, both indoor and outdoor available. Lots of skin care and hair products to choose from in the change rooms. Beautiful surroundings. A convenient store within 10min walk.

Kinugawa Onsen Sanraku was a high point of our Japan vacation. The hot springs were glorious; the food was wonderful (including dietary modifications); and the staff made us feel like honored guests from the green tea welcome to the hotel shuttle departure. Everyone visiting Japan MUST stay at an onsen, and Sanraku is a stellar choice if you are visiting the historic Nikko area.

Nice Onsen hotel. Great service. The beds are hard though. Fantastic food. The water of the Onsen doesn’t make your skin as soft as I have seen in other Onsen. Not sure why..

Stay 2 night with whole family, nice service and very cozy. The kids love the hot spring in the first floor...

The Japanese style room is very big and comfortable! Everyday our meals (breakfast and dinner) are served by very friendly, helpful and polite staff. The Japanese style set meals are good with a variety of food likea mini-buffet! The staff's English is communicative. Shuttle is provided to go to spots and train station nearby. There are both indoor and outdoor hot spring but a bit disappointed that there is no view.

It was good to be greeted at station upon arrival. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Environment are good and peaceful. Meals are good n plentiful but still room to improve. In general, it is good experience to stay. Rooms is spacious and comfortable with in room bath. Hot Spring Bath is good and comfortable. Price during my staying period is reasonable.

Very nice “classic” style older hotel kept up very well. The bed and pillows were comfortable, the view of the gorge (river) was great, and the dinner and breakfast absolutely delicious. Unfortunately I have a tattoo that is bigger than “one point” (palm size) so was not able to use the onsen. I wish the hotel would reconsider tattoo policy because it is so common for people from all countries including Japan to have tattoo art. This is the only reason why I could not give overall 5 stars.

今回、26年ぶりに車を運転（自力高速教習？）するのが一番の目的。二番目は久しぶりの温泉。そして食事。 疲れると思うので、ゆったりくつろげる施設がいいと思っていたので希望通り時間を忘れて過ごす事ができベストでした。 ありがとうございました。

スタッフの方々の対応が素晴らしかったです。 お部屋も広くて快適でした。 食事も大変美味しかったのですが、朝食はもう少し少なくてもいいかな？と思いました。

食事が豪華でした。スタッフも一生懸命やって下さってて好感が持てました。

お料理、スタッフさんの対応、温泉やアメニティ、いずれもとてもよかったです。

静かで良かった！ 急遽親の結婚祝いのプレートをお願いしたら、凄いプレートと家族写真を撮ってプレゼントしてくれました！ またドライヤーはReFa、シャネルや、Diorのアメニティも使い放題、パナソニックの顔のスチーマーなど凄く豊富だった！ あんなの初めてです！
